Race Review - Cincinnati Spartan Trifecta Weekend 2024 

Thank you for the shout-out, I enjoyed meeting Tom in person and I very much enjoy OCR Kings channel and have been watching you guys for years! I am also a parking lot shower man who I'm pretty sure the guy sitting next to me appreciated on the long flight back to N. Ca. Some day look forward to meeting you guys!

It was a challenging weekend. Got my first Trifecta Weekend medal!

Completed the Beast on Saturday. The hills were all over the place. Quite a workout. Barbed wire crawl and sandbag carry were backed up pretty bad.

The Bag Check and Spartan + was the best I’ve seen. The smell of concessions and pizza. Almost felt guilty walking on all the carpet and floors in race gear

I missed Perfect North this year, but I have run the Sprint 6 times between 2016 and 2023. I've run other races in Michigan and Illinois and other parts of Indiana and this is the most challenging in our region.

Might have to add this race to my list of must do's... Great sitrep from OCR King's pro correspondant as usual!

Done my first sprint on Saturday and had a blast ….already booked Asheville and West Virginia.

I was there and can vouch for everything you said. This is the 3rd Ohio Spartan venue I have run and this by far had the most relentless hills, even more than West Virginia in my opinion. The technical running was hard on the knees and ankles but the venue had awesome facilities and parking. Yes a good pair of shoes were invaluable, my VJs were awesome. I did see a lot more than usual folks being helped off the course due to injuries, more so than I was have witnessed before. Still a good time and well worth it.

Badlands Beast was a tough one because of all the sand and small rocks. Perfect Slopes was great for the Super and Sprint, the Beast however was ridiculous. Seemed like 5 miles just constantly climbing up and then down steep slopes. Destroyed the calves and so hard on the knees. Running was not an option. The Perfect Slopes facility and parking was great and the volunteers were top notch.

There definitely were some gaps between obstacles, but the Sandbag carry on the Ultra loop did not mess around. I've done Mont Tremblant, and by no means am I comparing elevation - but - this track should garner some respect moving forward.

Several comments about hills. Um...🤔. Ski place🤯. My favorite thing is as running down hill passing people i like to shout out NEVER WASTE A DOWN HILL!!! It motivates me. Possibly pisses off some people. 😅
