What are you some kind of fancy plantologist with your words and facts and being accurate? It's a little man and those are his little man hairs so that means that's the top. The TV lady said so dummy! Just because those are actually roots doesn't mean it's the roots that's just simple geology.
Clearly this woman has never actually planted/harvested onions or she would know that the hairy end is the roots and the "root" end was actually the stem part that came out of the ground.
