@@frshmedia what it was...a lifestyle. It wasn't just about tricks, which is why today almost everyone has the same style..very robotic...This era was a expression of yourself..your OWN STYLE, the way you carried yourself, the way you were on a daily basis, your own personality, it ALL TRANSLATED in your skating and that was what made it blow up when it did..it was something so rare, raw and unique we created a sport out of it.
Legendary section! Gotta love that intro, where he is stripping off those "office clothes" or stripping off societies rules to go be free and real on blades! At least that´s how I felt, and it was such and empowering feeling, I remember I took this to my life and still do. It´s kind of a "f.. the world" attitude where all you wanna do is blade! Rachard is the Michael Jordan of rollerblading. GOAT status for sure! Thanks for posting this one! Mad respect!
I think it´s Emanon. Look him up, all his lyrics are solid. He speaks truths about the world and the hip-hop scene. Changed my mind about hip-hop in general. There are a lot of good, real stuff out there. Emanon is one of them. Look up Brother Ali, also a great rapper slash hip-hop artist! Cheers brotha!
In his prime...I never tried to skate like R. Johnson. He had soo many technical grind combos... I instead would huck and spin off gaps. Always wanted his lock on grinds. Still can't back farve all these years into the game. Some are just natural.
