www.wineandbook... Rachel Campbell-Johnston chief art critic of The Times, talks to the Lindeman's Wine & Book Club about her new book, Mysterious Wisdom: The Life and Works of Samuel Palmer.
To the author: Congratulations on all the favorable reviews that your book is racking up. For Americans who don't want to order the new book from overseas, don't miss Geoffrey Grigson's Samuel Palmer: The Visionary Years. This book is over 60 years old and loaded with monochrome reproductions, but the text is excellent although it focuses on just a few years of Palmer's life. If you want to sample Palmer's prose, get hold of Gilchrist's Life of William Blake, which includes SP's memoir.
