This is AWESOME. Great Job Rachel... Seat time is Key... I promise. Learn how the car feel's. Adjust it way out of line. Drive it... Adjust back in line. Know what you as a driver like. You style maybe different then the next guys. But Seat time.. is priceless.
Thank you Johnny, Rachel and Kim have been my pit crew for years and I figured Rachel had absorbed a lot of knowledge over the years. We're putting it into action now.
Thanks Robert, You better be pretty small to fit how we have Rachel set up if you're next because I can't even start to think about getting in the car now.
My first time racing was a bust! The second night my father told to send it as hard as you can if you wreck the car you can always get a new one. 3rd night I was running 5 top lol Sometimes you gotta send it lol
Rachel looked good for her first time on the track. Seat time is key. I am there myself. Getting back to racing after not racing for 20 years. Good luck.
Everyone has to start somewhere. I've hung bodys and done all the setups while my cousin got to race the late model, then one night we're at the track he said I could go pack it in come back in it was hot lap time he said I could go for it the ultimate rush I had on dirt the other was the dragbikes I've raced over the years. Go gettem girl you can do it.👍🇺🇸🤙🇺🇸
Awesome job 👍. With everything you have to remember and learn don’t forget the most important thing,,, HAVE FUN!! Jason I wish I would have had someone teach me how to drive, good on you for devoting so much time to teaching all of us.
You know I love to race myself, but there is something really cool about seein that grin on your kids face when they are doing something like this and doing it right. But she ain't retired me yet!
Hell Yeah I Agree. Very good job. We will be renting our local track soon to make some laps with my son. Same Sceniro!! Jason come down here and coach him. Lol
Did real good! I was told years ago that has always stuck with me. Go out there and build up your speed and push your self each lap until you spin out then you back up a lap before you spun and that is where you need to be.
Very Impressive! Much better then I would have done on my first time on the track. I would have been into that wall. I liked Rachels track etiquette when the car in front of her spun out she gave them the space they needed. Nice. Cheers from Motown.
She looked pretty good out there for never being on a racetrack she did an excellent job you know as well as I do seat time the Morrissey time she gets the better she's going to get but great job in spinning out I don't care who you are I've seen guys that have been racing for 15 years that still spin out but again great job looking forward to seeing some more videos hope you had fun but y'all be safe take care
Very impressive!! To go from not ever driving to turning Semi-consistent laps!! Seems like a little more side bite/drive may be all she needs because it just seems to tail out just before picking up the throttle again!! Super impressive!!
I think putting her on a track with some grip would dang sure help. I think the car does need a bit of work center off but that track was so dry and didn't build any rubber at all so I am still studying on it. Looks like it needs a bit more bite in the left rear and I think the right side needs to be lowered.
It was sure slick but that's great learning experience. She get's on a real live hooked up tacky track and it's gona be like "Holy smokes, We are MOVIN"
She’s doing really good! She is looking really comfortable in the car. Speed will come in time/experience, good job! You would also be surprised what a 1/2 buried car tire will do to a race car body! Don’t fret over that.
@@DIRTRACELIFE yeah, the tires always make for a bad week of body work and parts replacement. But excited to see her progress, hope she keeps her cool around other cars and has fun. I’ll be cheering her on! She will have a fan in the Camden stands when I can make it.
I think Rachel did great for the first time on a track. It takes a lot of seat time to get going forward. Hope she gets opportunity to take on more practice laps. Rachel also seems to listen, and take advice and better herself. Good Luck.
We are all super happy with how she did. It's possible we might get to go to one more practice at a different track next Saturday if the weather is good.
Rachel, I think You held a real good wheel. Meaning You weren’t sawing the wheel. This a very common rookie tendency. I’m glad the ole Camaro didn’t sell . I’m enjoying watching your progress and looking forward to seeing You grow as a racer. I think Ya made Poppa Duke proud.
She's doing a Hell of A Lot better than I did my 1st time!! 1st Hot Lap(s) ever, I went out on track from Turn #2 went around Turns #3 n #4 then exited track on Turn #1. I Didnt evn do a Full lap lol
Sweet job you will find your comfort zone you'll just need to learn the limits of your particular car and set up. The first time I drove my leaf spring camaro I planned on following in the back that didn't last through 1&2 I was starting to pass. It's hard to win but wins will come with determination proper adjustments and the comfort between you and your car. And respectfully earn and command respect good luck one more thing I hear other drivers occasionally worried about wrecking and yes it will happen but in your heart know that your not wrecking it will help your confidence and driving. Good luck thanks for all of the content I've definitely learned some stuff heart California dirt racer #09 street stock Douglas weeks Dimond mountain speedway 🤟🏁🇺🇲#09
Very nice driving looked a whole lot better than me my first time on a race track very good car and throttle control and a very good teacher as well hopefully see you in victory lane with that car or your own car in the near future if it hasn't happened already
I just subbed 😁 another girl on the track,I race street stock's,My sister supper late models, and my 2 brothers run super late models my husband runs outlaw sprints,If you are getting into racing my husband said to give you this ROCKET chassis we have I was going to try it but I like street stock's it's yours if you want it
Hey Lisa! I appreciate the offer for sure. I think I need to learn and get a lot more comfortable with factory stock before I get up there with those fast cars. We movin’ but we not movin’ that fast. 😆 That’s awesome that the entire family race. Good luck this season!
@@DIRTRACELIFE they changed it to April the 2nd so I’m gonna go to the new track in Corbin ky and race for my first time ever, wish me luck lol. But hope to see y’all sometimes at one of those tracks
Rachel said that as well. I should have asked Wesley to get back out there and lead some laps for her. He had a blistering fast CRUSA street stock that day.
Remarkable job to Rachel! I hope I can get an opportunity like this. I’ve been glued to iRacing too darn long and I’m trying to save up for a UMP Modified or a Pro Late Model.
Those UMP mods are the stuff! Rachel's sure progressing now and I can see she is getting the knack for it now. Go get the modified and get in there with them 😉
She did a great job. Maybe keep them thumbs up on the edge of the steering wheel instead of inside. First time that wheel jerks and that spoke meets your thumb ya aint going to be happy. Listen to Jason. He's feeding you good info.
The Camaro is classed as a Factory Stock. Basically a full frame and stock type / placement suspension but they allow aftermarket noses and body panels.
Yes, especially on a dry track like this one was. If a track is perfectly tacky you can end up not trailing any brake at all but under most conditions, in order to get the car to roll into the corner instead of slide, it takes brake.
It was there for just a little while early but it left really quick. Which that's good though because I really want Rachel to feel what it's like to ride that edge of out of control in the slick. You get comfortable there, you are good to go on all of it then!!
