This comment section is ridiculous actors deserve pay it isn’t just a passion for them but also a job. It is also very different to your regular 9-5pm as there is less job stability so they need residual payments. Just because she is new to the industry and has booked some good roles doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve good pay
@@dowogenesthedog7186 There have been major issues with residual payments though as I'm pretty sure she said in the video one of the actors in OITNB had $27 in residual payments. Also there is lots of expenses actors have to pay for Adelaide Klane did a good video breaking it down. Yes of course she would be making more then a Mcdonalds worker but that doesn't negate how hard actors work
@@dowogenesthedog7186 I’ve worked at hungry jacks and I’ve meet many actors it is very difficult to compare. McDonald’s employee you are on your feet all day and it is stressful dealing with complaining customers. However you often don’t need experience to get the job and often you will work close to home. If you work full time or part time you are guaranteed hours. They pay is often not the best that’s why often you see teenagers working at McDonald’s. Whereas with acting it is very difficult just to get in the door or even an audition. They often have to travel long distances and be away from family. There is often not guarantees they will get another job after they get a role. They have very long days on set. However on the flip side they are getting to do something they enjoy and are passionate about.

So entitled… she’s literally been in the industry for a few years and already acting like she’s Meryl Streep. Meanwhile several actors have struggled for years and even decades to make ends meet. And don’t get paid like she does. Already she has 3 million and still complaining. Being in the higher ups of Hollywood is a privilege.

Sorry, but it is really hard for a vast majority of the population to empathize or sympathize with the “Hollywood” myopic mental midget crowd. Actors & support staffs must be fairly compensated for the work they do. The general population is entertained by the creative groups. The general population looses respect when actors start espousing political preferences thinking we will believe them bc they have a platform.
On a positive note, no more crappy content is being produced. I mean, royalties from crappy shows that make no money really doesn’t make sense. Rings of power only had 36% of their viewers finish the series and it coast the studio 190 million dollars. There have been two profitable big budget movies in the past year. Evidently, we need new writers because their content sucks. People forgot how to write compelling stories and just want to preach instead. That’s why there is very little support outside of Hollywood.

so typically, when a tv show is streamed on normal tv, the actors get compensation for their face being used in that tv show. this isn’t the case for streaming services like netflix. the actors aren’t getting compensation.
@BJ-bz9yg yes he does. It was his show. The cast of Friends still get over $20 million a year each of reruns. Hundreds/thousands of actors make a living off reruns of old movies/TV shows they done decades ago. Jack Nicholson still makes millions every year off that one Batman film.

It also includes rights against use of AI for actors, more health care benefits, and updated residuals (since residuals have decreased significantly with the rise of streaming in the past decade)
