Jack O'Neill has won practically every race I've ever seen him do round Clay, so it was a good challenge to try and keep up with him. I couldn't slingshot out of corners as fast but the tow kept me in contention for awhile + with the help of Owen Jenman pushing me from behind. I was weak through the chicane, couldn't seem to take such speed through there without the rear complaining, could be due to all the weight I have in the rear with the seat, otherwise the kart felt balanced.
This was race 2 of the SP60 champ at Clay. I got P4 in quali with no clear laps and battled Owen all race in Race 1, finished in P3. This meant I started P3 for Race 2.
00:00 - Start of the race - up to P2.
01:30 - Jack has eeked away slightly at this point in the race
03:00 - Back in contention thanks to the tow + Owen
04:18 - Could have gone for a move here but I felt like it was too early, plus 4th and 5th were a tad too close at this point, overtaking would have just slowed us down overall as I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up the same leading pace.
06:28 - Jack eeked away again after a few weak corners by myself
07:04 - Start of the fastest lap of the race out of all drivers (somehow)
10:12 - Backmarker separating us, need to overtake fast
10:26 - Now a sizeable gap that is going to be difficult to claw back
12:57 - Big mistake, a lot of time loss
14:33 - Big train of backmarkers ahead, need to catch up now or it's over
16:12 - Jack has now gone
20:04 - The race has shifted to working through traffic as quick as possible
22:15 - Driver sat still at turn 1 after spinning causing drivers to brake hard
23:08 - An overtake on a backmarker appears to have gone well but my left rear hit their right front causing me to go wide and losing the place to Owen, should've braked a tad earlier and not take the corner as tight
24:31 - Sizeable gap to Owen now
29:48 - Final lap, too far away to do anything
30:29 - End of race, finished P3
Good to get another podium at a track I am usually lacking pace at, hoping for more at later rounds :)
