Cars went nuts in the 2000s ngl. You had the whole JDM scene, the euro scene. Classic Muscle cars were still somewhat accessible. You had the viper the ws6 gto and camero plus a bunch of weird fwd supercharged and fwd v8 cars from that era too. Not only that but the cars, for me at least, Were the perfect blend of reliability and simplicity. Easy to work on and even the worst 2000s models will still go 200k easy.
I miss playing racing games so much, I kinda bored playing it so I start with FPS games just like Warzone, Insurgency and etc, it kinda fun to play these games so I start making knowledge with guns.
Holy shit I fucking love you for including Motorstorm I absolutely love the series and forever remained pissed at Sony for shutting down the studio that made the games

The Gran Turismo 2 and the Tourist Trophy is super accurate, the gt40 basically srt tomahawk x but in 1999, while for tourist trophy, its nearly impossible to drive without falling off
I actually thought it was funny as shit to see the riders fall in pathetic ways, i used to make them turn as hard as possible and gradually slow down until they just flopped onto the ground like a sardine off the kitchen table XD
Holy shit, I have like the DUMBEST-looking grin on my face right now after seeing mention of Pursuit Force for once. Both it & its sequel are such severely underrated hidden gems for the PSP nowadays. Glad to see someone remembers it as much as I do. :')
Using the Need for Speed movie clip to describe NFS The Run is so accurate cause the movie came out 3 years after the game came out and basically to some of the plot from that game.
the game with one of the strangest mechanic in any racing games, i still have no idea what's the point of that particular red bar other than being something something that makes you less likely to fell off after doing stunts (i actually have skill issue)
@@AhmadWahelsa Yep, you actually do lol The red bar is supposed to be a spring mechanic so you can use it to jump higher, and the reason you keep falling off the bike when it landed is because you need to lean the bike to the rear (i think front also works) so you can land more softly
same, almost no one that makes memes/vids about racing games puts asphalt games in their vids, they probably think that they aren't racing games but, just Mobile racing games
Yeah I glad someone still remember that game, it's my most nostalgic racing game ever besides rumble racing and NFS games and that game is the reason why I fall in love with racing game
Most references · The later FlatOut games have dumb-looking cars · Gran Turismo 1 has a used car dealership · Driver 1 = The parking level · DiRT Rally 2 has tremendous rolls · WreckFest includes lawnmower racing · Driver Parallel Lines has several serious crimes you don't commit · Asphalt Urban GT2 has you crashing expensive cars · MotorStorm Apocalypse's whole theme is you racing on abandoned/destroyed environments · Forza Horzion 5's intro scene has cars getting air-dropped (the whole series is very F&F-esque if you ask me) · Burnout Dominator has boost (so do most other Burnout games) · Race Driver 1 has a plot and it starts by your older brother getting wrecked and dying in an oval race · MX vs ATV Untamed has dirtbike racing and includes the song being played · Gran Turismo 5's very long intro includes several sped-up scenes showing the passage of time · Ridge Racer's driving mechanics are all about drifting at high speeds · Mario Kart 8 includes the ability to throw items at opponents to make them crash or lose pace · In Carmageddon, running over pedestrians is good (and in some countries they reskinned the pedestrians into zombies!) · In NFS Hot Pursuit (this is probably about the 3rd one, not the PSX one), the police can use EMPs and other stuff to stop racers · MotorStorm Artic Edge's whole theme is you racing on extremely cold places · Pursuit Force, Demolition Racer and Euro Truck Simulator 2 are very self-explanatory · Driver 2's missions are based on movie scenes from the 60s/70s/80s (you could've used the tram scene from The French Connection, it's like the 3rd mission IIRC) · In NFS Hot Pursuit 2 (PS2 game), the police can drop exploding barrels from helicopters when trying to stop racers · BurnOut Revenge's "traffic checking" feature can create extreme amounts of wrecked civilian cars · Gran Turismo 6 has a couple of missions where you can drive a Lunar Rover on the goddamn Moon (Kaz is stupid) · Out of all NFS games, the Need for Speed movie is probably closest to NFS The Run · BK4 meme about the Ford GT40 in that one race in Rome in Gran Turismo 2 · Tourist Trophy is a realistic enough motorbike racing game and motorbikes are easy to crash · Need for Speed (2015) is the 1st NFS game in many years to include illegal nighttime street racing again
@@theceoofbasedandlitswagger2456 - "Looking for you" is a breakup song, WTF are you on!? It's damn clear from the very start "Ghost of you, still lingers in my room" = Woman left but you can smell/feel her "I can't get you out of my head / Won't break what we both have / Illusions of the past" = Dude can't give up, still believes he has something but it's all nothing now Etc
The 1998 Hot Pursuit was never made for PSX (the post-release PS2 devkit briefly shown in TGS 2003). HP 1998 was released only for Windows and PS1. And yes, the video shows the 2010 HP, because otherwise there's would be likely Romulus III playing instead of Edge Of The Earth if it was about the 1998 HP
About the nfs the run thing I think it’s more of like nfs payback because in the movie you get betrayed while driving a koenigsegg and in the movie you also get betrayed in a koenigsegg unless you mean nfs like then yes
@Jack Smith it's tough but i think anyone who insists enough will make it with no problems. It will just take 10-15 mins with the right car, sadly i don't remember what i used :/
Holy shit someone else but me remembered motorstorm. Gran Turismo in general is just: "Here are about a thousand driveable cars, a third of wich are japanese and half of those are just a different shades of Miata, Eclipse, GTO, Skyline..."
Just recently I installed the GT5 master mod, and one of the features it had was putting all the standard cars in the premium dealership. This means I was able to see how many cars from each manufacturer are in Gran Turismo 5. Well......there are 170 Nissans and 140 Hondas. I could just end the list there to prove your point 💀
@@dylannaidoo7200 I do like japanese cars and the makers of Gran Turismo are japanese but I can barely care less for some of the cars. Kei-Wagons, Trim levels that differ almost only in thier names, obscure japan exclusive cars. The fact that Opel/Vauxhalls are treated as if there is a difference to them exept for the badge. It really gets me thinking if that time wouldnt better have been spent focusing on other things like, better sound, a less stiff exterior camera, more cars with detailed interiors. Making a great game even better.
@Jack Smith Few games give you as much choice as GT when it comes to sports cars, obscure cars, icons, racecars And I love that the game gives you this slow progression from low power, soft suspention, low grip cars to the rock hard hocked to the ground, powerfull race cars. Even with the Option to turn normal road cars into low and lean race cars via tuning.
@Jack Smith Lets just pretent GT7 does not exists, the world is bad enough as is. Ive played GT PSP, GT5, GT6 and GT4 so far. And pretty much in that order. How aobut you?
HOLY SHIT! Does anyone still remember Pursuit Force? It was one of my first PSP games! Pretty good game btw. And about NFS The Run. Also one of my favorite races and I didn't understand why there was so much hate towards it.
Suggestions for the next Racing Games IRL: *Blur *Onrush *Grid *WipEout *Lego 2K Drive *Project Cars *Split Second *Pokemon Dash (I know this game is bad and doesnt involve Cars but an IRL meme for this game would be funny).
Wow I did not expect to see Ridge Racer mentioned, and not just that but also having the camera spin around on the driver like he was doing the 360 degree drift. That was funny
Tbh apocalypse is way more wild then split second... Split second feel like someone planning to destroy those building. But in MotorStorm apocalypse.. it's all cause by nature
My god, pursuit force... An absolute gem i had completely forgot even existed, felt like i had an out of body experience with all those memories flooding back. Take my damn sub you bloody legend.
After Driver being mentioned 3 times I'm surprised Stuntman isn't on here. It would probably Edge of Tomorrow because of how many times you have to restart all over because you failed the final stunt after a flawless run up until that point
