Funny how we Indians in abroad complain of racism .

Somebody spat on a Manipuri girl calling her corona in Delhi. Shame, we have all forgotten how Indians were treated after 9/11 in US and Australia.

Once my friend who used to stay in northern Delhi told me that his landlord always asked for his EPIC card (used as ID) and he asked why, his landlord wants to prove that he is not from China...my friend then once asked his landlord to show his EPIC Card, the landlord asked him why, then my friend told him that he wants to make sure that he is not renting a Pakistani house in India 😃

My boyfriend is Assamese and being a bengali , I absolutely love his culture and his ahom tribe tradition ♥️♥️ northeastern ppl are absolutely amazing ♥️♥️

I have friends from NE who are thrown racial slurs everytime. Yesterday, he shared an ss of chat with his friend where someone from Gujarat called him Corona and racially abused. We have to stop this nonsense. They are our brothers.

I am from Siliguri, in this city you can see the beautiful diversity that maybe you can't even imagine. Here you can see different people from different cultures and communities living and befriending with each other like family (mostly Bengali and Nepalese, they are like brothers and sisters living together in this city). This is the place that joins north-east with other parts of India, that's why Siliguri is known as "Gateway to the North-east India". Proud to be from here. 🙏

I've gone to Ziro and I loved my time there. Failed to understand why the rest (some) of India treats them like that, when they are so beautiful. I've also gone to other parts of Arunachal, Sikkim, Meghalaya and Assam. Not even a single bad experience. Local people took amazing care of us. I owe to those amazing folks of NE communities, and they are as much Indian as I am.

To face Racism is not easy, it can literally drain you and makes you question your own identity. When I was in Bangalore ( many years back) I too faced racism... imagine I was new to the city and people and they didn't believe that I'm an Indian just because I was born in Nepali family. Every time and and to everyone I had to explain that my forefathers were born and bought up in Darjeeling which is a very beautiful part of India. They used to say that we are refugees or few of them even said go back to your country Nepal. I've no one in Nepal so how can me and my family go there, leaving our home, land and property. Now I'm working in Qatar again few people from none other than my country ask me not to speak in my language (Nepali). They say if I speak in Nepali then I should go to Nepal. Now I realize how bumbass people can be and still so proud of their backgrounds and education. What's the use of such education when you cannot except your own county people? Those people in Gorkha regiment who fought and still are fight for the nation are considered as the pride of our nation and on the other hand same people and their family is not been completely excepted by the country people. Such a shame.

This is truly underrated! And yes to people watching this video, since childhood we are taught many things which leads us to think in a narrow way but as we grow up we need to broaden our horizon and really deconstruct and unlearn our previos learnings and then relearning(a simple process:learn, unlearn and relearn). Atleast this is what my teacher taught me and m still on process. Say NO to racism and spread💜

Dear friends don't listen to them or feel bad about them who are being racist to you or showing racism towards you. If anyone ever shows that attitude.. Just politely.. back out from there.. Coz they don't represent our beautiful country.. We have others who are more beautiful by their nature, very humble..and very sweet people.. Those bad attitude people are just sick from inside.

I am proud of you all and I really mean it. You guys are amazing.... I am from Assam. In Guwahati city, we have lots of people from other northeastern states. We all are like brothers sisters. We don't discriminate. Guwahati is a place of unity in diversity. My one friend from Tripura told me that in his own state, Bengali people are dominant and there is also much discrimination against the indigenous people of Tripura. The tripuri people face biasedness and discrimination in the college and universities. Because of this some people come to Guwahati to study.

I want to see the movie that celebrate our different and sweet cultures since very long. I wanna thank to Axone film makers for making this movie.

Yeah i totally agree that we should try to learn the language and the culture of the place where we are residing in as we pursue our career . Learning a person's language or trying to understand their tradition is one of the first steps in breaking this barrier of racism and stereotypes. Sadly, sometimes we tend to be very aloof, which also stands true for when we see another NE person staying with us in that very same place, heck even students from my own state . Irony at it's finest. Some sort of , you know, egoistic tendency rises, or maybe it's just me. But all in all, the state of west bengal has given me so much love and support and food, lemme just say, the food is fantastic!! I have met amazing people who helped me through a lot of troubles and also guided me when i got lost in bazaars. But i did face a fare share of racism with being called " chinese food " to " corona virus"😂 But the good people make up for all the bad i have faced till now and this was possible because i tried to make an effort because i felt that I as an entity somehow represented my beautiful state of sikkim . So...this rant has been going on tooo long, notsure if anyone read it but....just saying, a smile and a hello goes a long way.

The country is teeming with racism. It's the sad truth. It's sort of ingrained in most people, going as far back as our grandparents even. To an extent, their comments are usually sublime, benign and not as painful or blunt as the latest 20-40 yr old college and office going generation. I've seen through both these generations and I've seen no positive change as I'm getting closer to 40 myself. There is a sizeable concentration of discrimination among people of North India in the NCR among people of the Northeastern India , and it doesn't simply stop at that. They say things about South Indians and they have things to say about people of West Bengal. It starts with a casual retort at the workplace between adult males and then it trickles down to their households, where their young children see their parents behavior and it propagates faster than any virus can. There have been so many times I've had to grit my teeth seeing my fellow brothers and sisters from an amazing part of India being mocked in my workplaces , usually such conversations do not progress to a hostile moment but stop just shy of it. Only a few sometimes do and when that singled out guy speaks out , sometimes he is attacked. Always stopping shy of the extreme, most cases of such behavior has and will always go unnoticed. Everyone claims themselves to be the nice guy otherwise and they usually are but when you see your best buddy say such things in front of you, you feel quite disoriented. I wish people would stop doing this. The changes will take a generation to be actually noticeable, if there's a positive change that is. But I wouldn't hold my breath on it. Thanks for making this video, I found a place to say some words I had lying deep inside for a long long time.
