This video is a primer on the terms and technology behind the rack Power Distribution Units (PDU) that are used in data centers. It's the first of 3 videos that describes how to select a PDU for your data center.
i noticed that though many L-630P are installed in data center racks and the feed(cord) goes underneath the tile(one with square hole) to feed it undergound to an outlet. There are actually 2 sources underneath...redundancy i guess.
HOLD UP!!! About the power derating, It's not that simple. It's not just 80% period, end of story. Equipment CAN be rated for 100% load. The same goes for a branch circuit breaker. Most are rated for 80% but there are 100% rated breakers that allow continuous loads up to the limit of the breaker. And there are 100% rated PDUs that allow continuous loads up to the limit of it's current rating as well.
power factor is not the ratio of real power to apparent power. power factor is the cosine of the phase angle difference between the voltage and current.
