I really need this. The electrician replaced the outlet but outlet was sinking in when I tried to plug something in because the ears weren’t sitting on drywall. Thanks for solving my problem. These electricians don’t know their stuff.

Not sure how it is in Canada, but in the US, the National Electric Code doesn't say anything about whether "ground up" or "ground down" is the proper way to install a receptacle, so it's left open to preference. The thinking behind ground-up is that if the plug is loose and something metal (like a pin, paperclip, nail, washer, etc.) falls/touches between the plug and receptacle, it can land flat on the blades and cause a dead-short. With the ground up, it creates an angle in both directions so an object would tend to fall away to the sides, or in a worst case ground out.
