Wish I had issue 10 printed. Other series from Massiveverse are good as well, Rogue Sun costume looks like Hellbat costume from DC but I don't mind. It's still innovative with lot of potential I am reading Radiant Black since it started and it's only getting better and more ambitious.
Radiant Black is *chef's kiss*. Vibrant colors and self contained universe that's basically filled with a western twist of sentai and tokusatsu characters is just great.
If it came to Amazon you think that they’d make it within the same universe for simplicity and easy crossover for the fans and story? Or they’d go cold turkey and just keep it standalone? It could work in the same universe right
I don’t read a lot of western comics but the art is reminding me of Solo Leveling. Which, ya know, is famous for its insanely good art. Will definitely be checking this out
@@girlhesgotthatbde1355comic fans would do anything but pick up a comic 😂 they would rather listen to podcasts talking about how bad the industry is rather than contribute themselves
I worked at two comic shops Both owners told me about this universe and described it as new power rangers. Both also predict it would eventually at some point blow up to be something big. Also animation would suit this universe more.
Seeing how this new superhero comic series is starting to make rounds gives me hope as an art student, as I’m attending this university to make my own original superhero comic series one day. I’ve made tons of characters, started world building back in 2017 (and I’m still adding more to this day, even after I’ve finished the first character story arc), and have had tons of inspirations, while also trying to stay completely original with my superheroes, villains, and those in between… Plus, not only Radiant Black, but even the likes of Invincible and The Boys, all which are neither Marvel OR DC, proves to me that I don’t have to possibly rely on the Big Two specifically to kinda inch me towards my dream, as other publishers are making these awesome comics with their own worlds and characters! Frankly, I know it’ll be a long time before I can get my stories published in any shape or form… but my dream is to see people go over facets of my eventual comics, and hope that people like them. Thank you for covering all these comics Dan! It’s reminding me i should probably read more comics if I’m gonna be making them one day lol
This song is just SO bittersweet and nostalgic for me. Found Nujabes through Samurai Champloo, and I found this song right after I went through my first break up with my ex of almost 3 years. Hearing it always brings me to tears.
Damn im in my comic book phase rn. From TMNT The Last Ronin to Radiant Black i've been finding comic masterpieces left and right like they're growing on trees
A lot of the indies from Image Comics are amazing, too bad many of them are pretty short and unfinished.. My favourite might be God Complex.. but when I found Radiant Black I was instantly hooked
Love to see Radiant Black getting some love, Higgins has been killing it non-stop and I don’t know the artists’ names but it’s been beautiful, love seeing the story and the massive verse is so cool
I picked up the first volume awhile back, absolutely loved it then picked up a random issue that was newest at the time and was never confused so a catch up would be much appreciated
so glad you’re talking about this. though i haven’t read the newer issues, it’s such a great story and the spin offs and side stories in the Massiveverse are pretty great too!
Been since 2021 my friend. I started more seriously collecting comics in 2022 and I couldn’t get my hands on any first printing issues of Radiant Black, from less than a year from the start of publishing, for cover price. You can find first printing for all sorts of books from 20 years ago, and buy them for cover price or close to. This has not been the case for Radiant Black since before the end of its first year. In a few years I’m sure it will be more commonly known among casual consumers.
Kyle Higgins just doesn't miss. I love how he revolutionized Power Rangers storytelling with his run on Boom Studios Power Rangers, and he has brought the exact same energy to the Massive Verse.
Image comics has always had amazing comics pop up. I grew up with them in the 90s. Getting the promos or 1st editions of Spawn, Deathblow Prophet Wild Cats and on and on. I think Image always was in the background because of the darker stories and the heavy fanboys of Marvel and DC. I knew shop owners who didn't care to even have Image in the store other than Spawn because of its sales eventually.
I got volume 1 for my birthday last week and it was an awesome read. Definitely gonna need to catch up with the series and the megavwrse. It feels like a perfect blend of American comics with manga.
If there's 1 thing im not a fan of with Radiant Black, its that there's A LOT of reading in terms of Dialog and whatnot. Some of which can't be helped, definitely don't mind it when it's Nathan planning out his book, It makes sense. Some dialog can just feel crammed into the panels. And that is literally the only complaint i have about the comic. The art and effects are AMAZING, I love and feel for the characters. I literally smiled when Nathan started writing, and seeing where each character comes from in terms of motivation and backstory is just something else. I highly suggest giving it a read, i was binging it like crazy yesterday
I've been on this since it first came out in 2021. There are other colors as well and the twist he's talking about is crazy. That totally took me by surprise. It is definitely a must-read if you want to read something other than the big two
Honestly just from the artwork I'd give a show a shot. Heavily tempted to give the comic a shot if I can find a way. But seriously the art looks fantastic, and it just gives a vibe of "this is gonna be worth it"
It’s funny this popped up again. I was reading this comic like 2-3 years ago when it started because Power Rangers is my shit. I took a break because I wanted it to build up more so I could marathon it. This is probably a sign to jump back in.
I actually met Kyle Higgins at a hotel I was staying at with the Army during COVID, he was there for a convention and signed a copy of the first issue.
I've been wanting to check it out since it first came out...but I prefer waiting for the massive Compendium to be printed before I buy. Compendiums are the Netflix of comics, as I can binge read all together in one sitting
I was keeping up with the book until issue 13 or so but dropped it for a while cause the new issues didnt surpass how cool the first ones were. Maybe ill try it again if the story and pace has picked up again
Love your content man! I think you explain things from comics really well and I am glad I have a person like you that likes comics as well as I do. Hey have you thought about how Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man 2099)has a symbiote now?
I need to start my comics, im so worried about running out of time, my ideas havent been taken yet but people are getting close, and i know its weird, i just dont want all my originally original ideas being accused of just copying someone
