@@soupie551 once you hit dia you pretty much have capable mechanical skill. The next thing is improving on is game sense, communication, map awareness, and team play in general. Unironically it only took me way less time climbing from dia to asc than plat to dia since players are better at comms.
@@tong6644 diamond was hell to climb out of for me man. plat gold silver and bronze were all fairly easy. i started to see people actually playing smart and had to learn the game completely different. now im jumping from asc3 to immo1 lol
Just some small feedback since it's especially obvious with this video. I get the need for the teaser clips at the start of the video, but it might be better to pick one from later in the round if possible. In this case, your teaser clip came was actually played at 4:30 in the vod. Using your timestamps as a reference, we had about 2 minutes of gameplay, before being made to watch the same 1m30s clip again. It feels like something that might negatively affect your viewer rentention.
The point of the clip is to provide the basic point takeaway of the video. It's not a hype clip, its a point of focus for the entire video. In the course of the video that happens where it happens.
yes, i fast forwarded and thought the same thing during that part. I was thinking maybe he was using it a teaching moment and playing it twice to really get the point across. Anyways i love the videos Woohoojin. I just started playing valorant a month ago and for the first 2 weeks i was iron and bronze until i finally stopped running and gunning. Now i am almost gold after watching your videos.
As a plat player my biggest problem is my aim and ability to hold down angles do to shit aim coz I'm supposed to be able to kill 2 before I die as a site anchor but I can't coz I keep losing aim duels when they rush into the site...
Thank you Woohoojin for your helpful coaching content, I managed to climb from Bronze 2 to Gold 1 this act bc of your videos and now working on following the VOD submission rules so I can submit a VOD myself. Thanks again for the very useful coaching videos Also, what's the outro song? And where can I find it if it's available anywhere
Every time I watch a video of yours, you make me want to play Valorant. The knowledge of the banana courses through me. Hooj is taking the Valorant creator space by storm and leading by example, while also keeping it an "echo chamber of positivity" . Hope you like the above statement Hooj, I had to eat 30+ bananas to achieve this masterpiece.
I was silver stuck like 2 months ago, but I was watching video consistently. And I'm now Plat 1. It isn't anything great but I can definitely tell I am understanding the game better and realize that I'm making mistakes. I see diamond as a possibility when I used to only aim for gold. Thanks.
I just hit plat and that minimap top was actually something I really need to work on. Thanks hooj! (also how does the raffle work do I get pinged if my vod gets chosen or do I just have to tune in to the streams cuz I’m usually busy at that time…
This was really helpful as a chamber main. I kept trying to kill 1 on site then get traded thinking I was doing something. WHen in reality I should have gotten 2 or got 1 and stayed alive
Woohoojin I want to thank you. I know you might not be able to read this but I watched your vids a lot and learned a lot. Not really good with FPS but I am happy I am able to go silver 3. Might not be a big thing for others but as a non FPS player, I appreciate the tips and vids you did and it really means a lot. It helped a lot with what I do in-game and sometimes I am able to make plans and call outs using the theories(what I call the planning) you have in you vid. I really want to thank you, now I need to learn to shoot and not relying on chance.
Hi! Simple observation, hope its be useful. Intro kinda confusing. Like deja vu. Maybe if you try to make it shorter, more dynamic and emphasized it works better. Thx for vids - i find some really useful tips for improving myself. Hope u make a good sensitivity video, because i have problems with it - just cant understand my type of sens(iam wrist player and cant change it due to some complications). Best wishes and health from Russia!
I say this in the most respectful way possible, HOW TF AM I IN THE SAME RANK AS THIS GUY, maybe I do need to get a vod review session to see how dogshit I am
I fkking hate this. My team just LOVES playing "postplant" and leaving their teammates in the site when enemy has 5 ppl left to wait for them to get whittled down until they're the last one left. It drives me absolutely nuts.
Please edit out the intro clip from the full video. Nobody wants to watch the same clip twice. I've seen you edit it out in at least one older video and that was great
Not sure if I am biased because I peaked a fairly high rank (ascendant 2) and am now playing diamond lobbies, but it seems like no one actually wants to win in my games or at least it is a secondary objective. No one carries bomb or will simply hold for you when planting and in the post plant, they are only playing for kills and it is difficult to coordinate Defense and post plant. I play breach a lot to execute heavily and support my duelists very agressively. These VOD reviews really help me to understand my teammates and their mistakes and how to compensate for them where I can as well as improving on my own game.Thank you Mr Banana😊
woohoojin i would love for you to explain how lurking works, because as a low elo player, i cant wrap my head around how lurking can be beneficial for the team instead of going on site with them
It's very simple, really. Lurking forces the enemy team to slow down and commit time and abilities to secure their flanks before going on the attack/retake. If the enemy gets careless and just rotates to your team, you can simply walk behind them and shoot them in the back or catch them while rotating. If they don't want that to happen, they need to check corners and waste abilities in order to find you. This buys precious time and protection to your teammates. It's especially good on agents like Viper or Cipher, because their abilities have no range limit, so they can support their teams while being on the other side on the map. You can also do a lot of other stuff while lurking like gathering information (listening to sounds, etc.) or securing alternative sites for your team to rotate to.
The short gist of it is, if you lurk effectively, you either catch the enemies not being aware and can shoot them in the back for free kills OR you make them worried about getting shot in the back, ultimately diverting attention away from the retake and wasting their time while the Spike is ticking down OR you find information and openings in the map that your team can play around Additionally, information is very strong in this game and lurking is an effective way to gain info & manipulate the enemies (make them think youre lurking, have to declare areas) Think of it as the enemies have to worry about their backs instead of only what's in front of them
The previous comments have already mentioned the main benefits of lurking but I'd also like to add that it can also help your team rotate faster in the case that they get hard stalled in main on certain maps bc of the map control the lurker has (i.e. rotating through mid on Split and Ascent)
Dude why is the dude at the end of the ad read so good every time?! Its confounding why I feel ecstatic every time I see it. Like I'm pretty certain I have seen him before in some viral clips. I don't know if he does work on that one website where you can hire people to make things for you, but if so, this is such a good way to make your ad. I genuinely enjoy seeing that ad read every time.
Love the videos, very informative. Small suggestion, maybe include in the video timeline when the intro is? like section it off so its easier to skip to/skip past. much love
Idk im not able to increase my rank its like in one game i drop 20+ frags and in next i'm not even able to drop 10 what to do my gameplay is so inconsistent 😢
I atttibute a lot of my approaching plat to you and especially that first "movement not aim" video I saw. I'll hopefully get some time to submit a vod for review soonish, thanks for all the help :)
If there's 1min10sec left on the clock that means we spent a solid 20 seconds looking at a wall or a smoke doing nothing with our duelists too scared to entry . Why am i to blame if i think my duelists aren't doing their job and go do their job for them cus someone has to entry . You said don't be that guy , it seems i am that guy what should i do when duelists don't entry and lurking isn't working because they are not putting pressure at any site
Woohoojin's point is that you shouldn't complain about things outside of your control. Valorant, like most competitive team games, is a game of gambles. Your teammates are one of them. Sometimes they are great, sometimes they suck. You can argue about luck and such, but in the great scheme of things, if you keep running into poor duelists, then that means the enemy team has the same problem on average. If you lose more than you win, then that means the enemy is doing something good and you aren't doing it. Maybe it's a simple as comming to the duelists to help them. Maybe it's lurking. Your "job" as a player is to focus on things in your control like game knowledge and aim to give yourself an edge and win the gamble most of the time.
