Suddenly, people in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Inner Mongolia started getting asthma-like symptoms. The officials claim it's something called "thunderstorm asthma".
Most of them have no pre-existing asthma diagnosis. But suddenly experienced dry coughs and swollen faces.
A coinciding event took place in Ordos, Inner Mongolia over high uranium concentration coal mines and two dead truck drivers.
Let me tell you the news.

I heard about this from my ladies in China, and they asked me to send them lists of brands of SALT of all things! I gave them what they asked, and inquired what they needed the salt brands for. They told me that customers have been asking for them because they believe salt can help protect against radiation! The CCP has been criticizing Japan about the release of water from the Fukishima Plant, yet they won't look at how much radiation their OWN nuclear plants have been releasing into the ocean! I just got a request from my ladies to send them a list of radiation detector brands that they can order through their contacts in Hong Kong. They're probably referring to iodized salt, not just salt. During nuclear emergencies, iodized table salt should not be used as a substitute for potassium iodide since it will not provide protection against radioactive iodine, and because eating excessive amounts of iodized salt will itself pose a significant health hazard.
@RobertLeeAtYT
@RobertLeeAtYT Год назад
What they're really after is iodine tablets. They can't get that so they're asking for iodized salt. Next time you're at the local market, look the label of a canister of plain old Morton salt. It's clearly labeled "Morton Iodized Salt". The reason for iodine tablet is that radioactive iodine is generated in nuclear reactors. In an accident that gets released into the environment. Your thyroid gland accumulates iodine. So the point of taking the tablet is to pre-saturate the thyroid with the non-radioactive version to prevent uptake of the radioactive iodine from the reactor.

Really bad, There's a radiation risk and a poisoning risk. The radiation risk is much much worse if you ingest it. You can imagine having extremely long-lived radioactive sources in you is not good. And while you do get exposed to radiation constantly the amount is far smaller than you would get from a uranium contaminated area. The larger concern would be particle ingestion. That's when things get really bad.

@@zhiqiangchen6235those treatments can do massive localised damage. For example with radioactive isotopes the function of thyroid can be permanently decreased which is good if your thyroid is overfunctioning! Other example: for PET scan (it is not a treatment!) very highly active, but very very small amount of isotopes are used. Those isotopes literally produce matter-antimatter explosions, and the gamma photons coming from these are used by the scanner. It does some damage, but the cells can heal, because it mostly destroys proteins and not DNA.

This is bad reporting, not considering other (equally bad) explanations. - the symptoms are not typical for radiation sickness - if it is caused by radiation then any handheld meter could measure it. How is it possible that nobody has any measurements at all? - radiation strong enough to cause symptoms within days, is _extremely_ high, basically deadly for most people who are not evacuated. (the contamination would take years to go away) - this may have nothing to do with radiation at all, just chemical poisoning from the mining, which is quite bad too, natural uranium is not very radioactive, but still very toxic too!

It was at this point that I once again drew on a whiteboard to connect Bladerunner's dystopia to "CCP Business As Usual." I'm going to be wrong about that ...one of these years.

Imagine if they would´ve said its all Japans fault because of thier REGULATED release of water from the nuclearpowerplant (while china releases more water from powerplants with wayyyyyyyyyyyy higher radiation levels that are actually dangerous)

I'm surprised they didn't blame Fukushima. I guess last time they did, it backfired pretty badly

A corrupt person in the right place probably figured they could sell some bad coal or mix it into the clean stuff or something and make some money. They may or may not understand the implications beyond profit. Could also be there's a fuel shortage not enough clean coal to meet demand and thought why not use the bad stuff.

The most important aspect about radiation is not to get radioactive substances into the body. As long as it remains outside you should be fine….but if you eat or breathe in anything radioactive then it could lead to cell damage, which could cause cancer.

The movie Behemoth offers a tragic glimpse into the coal industry in Mongolia. I’m surprised the ccp even allowed it to be made.

I remember a large sycamore in my yard that collected pollin and other pollutants and when the wind blew I couldn't breathe It was terrible. We lived in a valley with surrounding coal fired power plants . There are a lot of heavy metals and sulfur in burned coal .

Lots of radioactive isotopes too. Burning coal releases more radiation into the environment than a actual nuclear power plant.

All coal has uranium in it the only question is how much the concentration was. Coal also has thorium, almost always much more, but no one cares because uranium is more recognized by the public. Ash on the other hand that is left over from burning has a much higher concentration of both. Maybe people are wallowing in the stuff or maybe the plants found some way to put it all in the air for the fun of it. Coal mines are also a source of radon gas.
