I remember reading a father's poem about the lost of his son here. I can't find it anymore. This song makes me want to cry, but in the best way. It sounds like nostalgia and homesickness and coming home but not to a physical building home but to a person or a place that made you feel safe as a kid. It sounds like growing up in the summers where you could play forever and you never got old got sick got hurt you just kept playing under the stars and there’s so much potential for the future that you can’t wait to get started but you also can’t wait to get back to playing like there’s no tomorrow. It sounds like the slight warp in the photo albums spanning decades to mirror the softened and rose-tinted warp in your memories of those times.

My ex fianceé used to love this song. It was our happy song. We always used to listen to it whilst cooking together in the evenings. Today I'm 28 years old, but I remember when I was between 12 - 14 and I saw the Nikon ad during the simpsons break on Fox. This song played and I remember it like it was yesterday, me and my brother lying in the living room at home, watching the simpsons, on an ordinary Wednesday. I discovered this song a year ago and I thought it was a dope song. This year I lost way too much and I had to leave the town that I love, a place that gave me a new start and showed me that I can be a person. Today I came back to that place and heard this song and I finally understand what it means to be home. And although I can’t stay here and don’t know if I’ll ever be able to come back permanently, I finally understand the meaning of home and what it means to come back to it and this song is my reminder of that.
