I was born in 2002. But I remember my Grandpa used to have a big box TV with VCR. I remember watching classics like SpaceJam when we would stay the summer at his place. There is something SO satisfying about analog tech. Theres no middle man, it’s just you and the physical media.
I'm 19, about to turn 20 in about a month (born in 2003,) but I'm an enthusiast of culture from the 90's and 80's. I just bought an Atari 2600 from my retro game store and I'm playing Berzerk while listening to this. I feel like a kid growing up in a time I never experienced. Edit: you all are being way too wholesome in the replies. I wanna give just about every one of you a handshake and/or a hug.
Iv'e been meaning to say this for years, but thank you. Your mix "Welcome to the Lobby" is what introduced me to Mallsoft and Vaporwave as a whole. I wouldn't be the same person I am today without you. And even after all this time, your mixes still amaze me. I'm so happy to get this out. Thanks for what you've been doing. :)
It's worth checking if the display is a VFD (vacuum fluorescent display), and many were back then, they are unfortunately dying with age. Specifically, the vacuums on these seem to be leaking with time. There's not much to do about it, other than enjoy it while you have it.
The cigarette is to my lips. The smoke is riding and curling away with the music. My mind has returned to that place, that borealis waved, curtain like shaft of glorious golden sunlight that permeates all of creation. Thank you for this mix. Forever love, light and blessings
This album transcends the boundaries of smoothness and chillness. It's an ethereal journey through serene melodies and laid-back vibes, creating an experience that's truly unparalleled. 🎵✨😌
I listened repeatedly to your smolder & voyage mixes from years back and it was the theme song to some pretty important moments in my life. Looking forward to more mixes for the decades to come.
Always been a fan of these chillwave & synthwave mixes. Well done as always! On a side note, love the interviews on the new channel, along with the face reveal. You’re going places! 🎉🌊
@@SoulSearchAndDestroy lol it’s all good, and you’re welcome! It’s honestly nice to be able to put a friendly face to someone I feel like I’ve known for awhile. Glad to be along for the ride!
Still awesome. I discovered Chillwave with your mix 3 years ago. And now I listen this type of music everyday while working, evenings with friends or workout. Thx a lot. Keep up 🔥
WOW, Atomic Age - Apollo Synth. What an amazing harmonic progression do you have! This is why i love the genre: the perfect mapping of harmonics to my emotions, with some amazing synths that just have the perfect sound I like soo much.
honestly I don't know if I would've survived post-secondary OR my current job rn if it wasn't for these instrumental mixes. Also love the vapourwave!!! Creating an aesthetic makes it fun
I don't know if you're going to read this comment but I'd like to thank you A LOT for having a big impact on my musical taste! I knew some synthwave before from Hotline Miami but I discovered a lot of artists because of your mixes like A.L.I.S.O.N, Emil Rottmayer and Zane Alexander. I made a playlist of songs that I liked then started listening to their entire discographies and now my main synthwave playlist on Spotify (3 years old) has over 2300 songs. 😄 You're doing a really great job. 😊 Most of the future funk artists (my second favourite genre right now) I also discovered from your mixes. 😎
this makes me feel nostalgic for times i didn't live through and places i've never lived ✨ spot on as always, lovely mix! :) this cured today's 'i can't find the right thing to listen to' hehe
I have a playlist of music I use while studying, and this one is going right to the top. Instant classic. Also, like half the playlist is from this channel.
Something about Dream Link - admo hit me with an old memory of this Jazz station in Cali that would play awesome array of music. I was a rambunctious kid so car rides were heck on earth. lol. But my parents would switch to the jazz station and at times synth like jazz would pop up and I would clean pass out till out destination. Music surely calms the beast lol
And I'm checking the upload date..... 3 months ago? Ok, that's why I've not heard this mix before. So great, as always - your efforts are so appreciated!!!!
It's fall 1983, you are chill at home thinking about the future and how humanity will be with the globalization in a distopic future. but, Suddenly you wake up and you realize is 2023 and decide scrolling down on RU-vid and find out this masterpiece, and immediately you start remembering the past you never lived.
That looks so much like a Mitsubishi VCR from 1987 I found at a flea market. I thought it was cool that they made a VCR designed to record hi-fi audio without video.
Who can place what anime this VCR video bit is from? it is seriously nostalgic looking, but I can't locate it on Google Lens. it just loops me back to various YT videos that use it.
