The GD-88 checks all the boxes:
[_] Best Value
[_] Excellent Customer Support
[_] Most complete package
[_] Best and Most up to date Extended Manual
[_] Perfect match for the Digital Hotspot world
[_] Two Free Advanced codeplug programs
As a licensed ham with experience in the Analog world, this was my first Digital. I watched dozens of well done youtubes and came away with the idea that this was going to be very difficult. It wasn't. Thanks to very nicely done manuals and software and most especially the incredible and responsive Radioddity Support Disk, I am pleased to say I like this radio and have no qualms recommending it.
My review is not as polished and technical as many other fine hams put out, but just know it's my honest opinions formed after I spent about a month just working with DMR from a beginner's start. I tried to be as informative as I could and hoped to give other newbies what they could look forward to. Hope you enjoy the show. Bill - KI5VGT
