A typical tremolo pedal is fixed to whatever tempo it’s set at, which in a live situation can go out of sync pretty quickly, especially with two other guitarists. Whereas with a killswitch he can control the tempo, so keeping time with the band is relatively easy. That could be the reason (old comment I know, but w/e)
