You should make a series or videos where you break down your old and very popular system test videos, maybe explain the structure of the old systems and how you put them in, or how you built the 8000 series panels. Would totally watch.

As someone who used to work with a radionics dealer this is a very nice video to see. I actually really liked the D7412 most out of all the panels. The newest model is nice as well. I will say, in New Jersey, the most common device on any radionics system is the Spectralert Classic. Usually 12 volt models. Awesome video!

The handcuff was only a concept, they quickly realized it put the person in danger if there actually was a fire. As for the dye, that was a fabrication invented by fire departments to deter false alarms.

0:51 Like Walmart (pretty much the only place I ever see them). 1:01 Which is a rebranded RSG RMS-1T. 1:11 Really? Did Hochiki make different color heads & bases for some reason? 1:17 Hey, as long as it works right? 1:20 Mhm! (though technically the original manufacturer is Hochiki & thus both Simplex & Radionics rebranded it from them, among others like Silent Knight) 1:52 I've got an SHG exactly like that one (same lens design & everything), I thought mine was a 2nd-generation version though going by the reflector (though according to you it's still a 1st-gen version just with a reflector); in fact I thought there were 3 generations, with the 1st-gen having no reflector, the 2nd-gen having one, & the 3rd-gen being identical to the 2nd except swapping the march time tone for a temporal 3 one. 2:02 Is that battery seriously dated _2017?_ How does it even have _any_ charge left in it if it's that old? 2:16 75!? _Wow! That_ is a _lot_ for an otherwise average security panel! 2:26 I assume the one you have on it is the Bosch version since Bosch now owns Radionics (if they still make it of course). 2:40 Does that mean that you _have_ to use both zones on it, you can't just use one? (since you have only one smoke detector on the setup) 2:42 How exactly is that controlled by the panel? (as in what on the panel controls the output(s) of the board) 3:00 Huh, didn't know Altronix made power supply boards like that one (though according to what I've read about it requires a 24VAC input, which just complicates things further as you then need a transformer in between the 120VAC power coming from an outlet & the input wires hooked to the board). 3:16 Clever! Honestly though those were manual zone trip switches when I first saw them. 4:39 I'll never understand why Radionics decided to have _two different_ reset buttons on that particular keypad model instead of just one that resets everything like with pretty much all others (as it just complicates the reset process unnecessarily, not to mention the one button being labeled "ANNUNCIATOR RESET" when it actually resets the _panel._ I'm sure _someone_ has forgotten to hit "DETECTOR RESET" after an alarm & had the system go into trouble). It's unique though for sure. 5:31 Going by the way the keypad goes blank for a second, I assume that like most panels it briefly cuts the auxiliary power to reset any tripped sensors like smoke detectors. 5:37 Not quite! (on the upside even if that wasn't intended it _did_ allow you to demonstrate what happens when you _don't_ hit "DETECTOR RESET" _before_ hitting "ANNUNCIATOR RESET") 6:14 This made me realize that the keypad isn't emitting Radionics' distinctive two-tone trouble beep even though it's in trouble from the smoke detector still being in alarm. 6:17 Don't do so if you aren't authorized to though! (read: everyone except technicians who are there to work on that particular system) 6:40 I assume that it's programmed as a trouble zone given the way it's named. 7:00 Was it necessary to reset the system again? 7:20 Makes sense given that it's a fire keypad, & thus you would want only those functions on it (though can that be done per keypad so that the security keypad can have only security functions on it?). I assume that if you had a D1255R which _does_ have a full keypad that you could include some of those functions (like bypassing which might be important even on the fire side of things: disabling a zone to help prevent false alarms for example). 7:53 Clever thinking of Radionics there, giving the tester a numerical count of devices still needing testing! (sure that means they have to keep coming back to the keypad to check said number, but that's quite an advantage over other systems, pretty much all of which _don't_ do that!) 8:20 I've heard Radionics/Bosch keypads make that noise on occasion, I've never known what it means though. 8:24 Interesting...is there something in the programming where you can set a zone to be auto-resettable or not? (or maybe even an entire zone type just for auto-resettable devices like smoke detectors) 9:12 You sure it's not because the "FA NAC FAULT" zone isn't programmed as a fire zone? (which would make sense: why would something like that send the panel into fire alarm when it should cause a trouble to indicate that the supervised bell circuit module has been disabled, thus preventing the fire alarm signal from sounding in the first place) 9:32 _Wow_ that's a heck of a setup you've got there! I look forward to more demonstrations with it! 9:36 Technically speaking the fire _portion_ of the D7412G. 9:42 Are they difficult to _program_ as well? 9:47 I think so too, especially since we've all seen them but probably never knew up until now how they really worked. Thanks for the demonstration! 9:54 Sure thing! You have a great day too!

Responses to all your comments, in the order they're listed: Most national chain stores use Radionics systems, but Walmart is probably their biggest client. Yeah, RMS-1TK Hochiki made ivory and white colors. It works but it annoys me a bit lol Hochiki yeah. Simplex, Radx, SK Most agree now that the first gen is the original horn, second gen is the Commander horn and march time, third gen is the Commander horn and code 3. Yeah that battery still works, it does at least keep the panel out of a battery trouble haha 75 is actually right in the average for small security systems. The D9412G can have 244 points, and Bosch's B9512G can have over 500. Yeah it is a Bosch branded D125B. You don't have to use both, I just wired both. One of the panel's onboard outputs (Relay B) is controlling it. Altronix makes a lot of power supplies, and yeah there's a 24VAC transformer nearby that I didn't show. Yeah I usually use those switch boxes for tripping the zones on the demo systems. I am probably going to do a followup on the keypads and say something about the two reset buttons. Actually that's just an odd thing they do. Only the keypad you triggered the sensor reset from does it too. It was planned, haha When a key is pressed on the keypad it waits several seconds before resuming whatever tone it was making. If I had waited long enough you'd have heardi t. Yeah don't touch panels you're not allowed to touch. Yeah trouble zone. It was, because the trouble conditon stays in the keypad memory even though it's no longer actually present. Fire zones typically aren't bypassable. Also, the D1255R was used when you do want a passcode to operate the fire system, or you need complete control over the system for some reason.. Sometimes it was also used as a security keypad, just red to indicate it does both. Those walk test features are pretty common on a lot of higher end alarm panels actually. Radionics just did their own method of the same idea. That's the "Watch" sound, basically keypad chime. It's usually heard if watch mode is enabled and someone opens a door while the system is disarmed. Walk Test also uses it as a more distinct tone to confirm something was received. It is a zone type, not specific zones, where you make that setting. I have two zone types programmed in my system, one for pull stations and one for smoke detectors. Actually if i had flipped the switch up immediately after flipping it down you would have heard the SHG blast... because in walk test mode it blasts the signals any time a device is tripped to let you know it was. D192 modules aren't always installed at the panel or the keypad isn't always nearby, so being able to hear the signals lets you confirm it worked. More videos are coming. Yes. You need special tools to program Radionics, can do a short video on that sometime. You're welcome You have a good day too.

@@NewAgeServerAlarm Yep: heck it's basically a stereotype that Walmarts have such systems. Wonder why they would make two different colors when really only one is enough/needed. Yeah, sorta annoys me too (even though I don't think I have OCD). Oh, really? Had no idea those were the differences between each generation, good to know! _Over 500?_ Man... Yeah, didn't know they made ones in board form & not just in panel form though. Right: on security panels fire zones typically aren't bypassable as you said, they are on most FACPs however (you'd think it would be important for security panels too though, _especially_ in the case of preventing false alarms). On the rest: ah/yeah/yep/mhm/huh/right/okay/alright/oh. Please excuse the ridiculously long comment, but I just wanted to make sure I commented on everything I could.
