Thanks for the fantastic learning lesson! I market garden here in N. Wisconsin, and I had a fallow space ideal for an early fall crop (September); radishes would be perfect, and I like the no till method, and I never new the seedlings could shoot up through 1" of loose straw! I love to offer a wide variety of vegetables, as this is otherwise a touristy food desert, and now ppl can enjoy radishes along with peppers, tomatoes, and squashes. Thanks again for the great tutorial video!!

Another amazing use for radishes? In stews and soup. And their greens too! The greens have even more vitamins and minerals than the radishes themselves, who knew?. And they lose most of their pepperiness but retain their distinct flavour. They also roast beautifully in the oven - around a roast for example. Added bonus? Super low in carbs for those with diabetes or other dietary restrictions. I LOVE radishes raw and cooked, it's a win-win

What kind of scissors were you using to cut the radishes? I have a pair of scissors that I bought at the hardware store several years ago. They also have green handles. Even after cutting plants, food scraps, paper, fabric, and washing them in the dishwasher, they are still holding up pretty good.

What happens to the roots of those plants you are thinning ?
@TheRipeTomatoFarms
@TheRipeTomatoFarms 3 года назад
The ones I thinned shrivel up and go in the compost pile. The ones left in the soil boom ahead with the extra space to stretch their legs!

I am unable to grow radish. The result is always leggy plants without any bulbs. The lower part of a long stem is red which I think should be the bulb. The soil is moist and loose and the sowing is not overcrowded. The weather is now cool. What can be wrong?
@TheRipeTomatoFarms
@TheRipeTomatoFarms 3 года назад
Hey man, no bulbs can be a few reasons. Usually its overcrowding...that will definitely stop bulb production. So will excess nitrogen as well as a wonky pH. Those are the big three that I've seen.

When do we get to see the onion regrowth update video?! You started the second regrowth 7 months ago. You've had part 1 and part 2 and we're looking forward to part 3, 4 and then the "Proof in the pudding!" part 5. Every single video I've watched about regrowing onions has never had a final update showing a "true onion" as you called them growing, just green tops sprouting! You said "...the naysayers said that a true onion will never form again from that sliced end." Please prove those naysayers wrong! (Are those "true onions" growing in the radish bed or green onions growing and getting trimmed to be used?!)
