I believe so from what I’ve seen….here is list of radios they work with from Radtel on Amazon……RT-490 RT-470 RT-470X, UV-K5 RT-590, Compatible RT12 RT-890 RT-830 8800 Plus UV9D AR-869 jc-8629
So many options...so few buttons. The firmware is primitive compared to the Baofeng firmware, but the battery and power settings are powerful. I'm not a big VFO fan, but this is the most powerful HT I have. I have two meters and three radios. The power settings are as follows: Frequency HIGH MED LOW ---------------------- 140.000 13.75W 7.36W 5.75W 142.725 13.30W 8.71W 3.69W 143.500 13.55W 8.67W 3.89W 144.000 13.61W 7.40W 5.92W 146.355 14.45W 7.31W 3.54W 440.525 10.93W 5.03W 1.86W 442.000 11.36W 5.17W 1.89W 446.252 11.34W 5.24W 2.00W The radio, at MEDIUM setting, is a bit more powerful than most other radios, which run about 4.62W-8W. You most likely won't need the HIGH setting (11W-14W), but it's nice to have in case. The LOW setting fluctuates depending on frequency. Great radio. With a cross band repeater, this thing would be awesome. But you can't have everything. (That's why I like the TYT TH-UV8000 radio the best.) The TH-UV8000's power are: Frequency HIGH LOW ------------------ 140.000 9.22W 6.03W 142.725 9.84W 6.03W 143.500 9.98W 6.05W 146.355 10.40W 6.23W 440.525 10.50W 5.73W 442.000 9.86W 5.68W 446.252 9.57W 5.58W
