Very interesting to hear the thought processes from the legend himself. I was rooting for him through day 2 and while I am sad he didn't make it in the end, he has made some mind boggling guesses that put someone like Blinky under so much pressure, which not many players can do. Hearing his thoughts on this Trabota game alone reveals so much knowledge he has on the game and how experienced he is in how to tackle these rounds in a competitive format. Watching it live was absolutely insane with how close he got every time. It was an honour meeting him among other fantastic players in this tournament.
Radu's playing against Trabota was so good, my favourite of the tournament. Maybe less 5ks than blinky but so many consistently great guesses for the whole game
would like to hear people's thoughts about multipliers because especially in the pro scene where money is on the line, does it not make more sense to either get rid of them entirely or at least reduce how quickly they increase to minimise the amount of RNG in these tournaments? reducing RNG is always a priority for most other esports so i dont see why it wouldnt be a priority here also.
I think a "regular" duels game with multipliers increasing more slowly would be more "fair". But what I think skewed the RNG in this tournament was the 10 round limit. Being behind on points means you have to take larger risks, and if you get smaller countries in the last few rounds, it makes a comeback highly unlikely. The regular duels format was used in the qualifiers, the games lasted longer and made event scheduling more unpredictable and I believe this was why that change was implemented. The world cup was still a good tournament with a deserved winner and top 8, but I do hope they tweak the format to the benefit of the players next time around.
