Its too expensive vs the pi5 which has better driver support. In my country with taxes this is the same as Pi5 that comes with brilliant Norwegian warranty. For 140 usd one can now get an N100 with 16gb ddr5 ram, activated windows and 512GB m.2 and a powerful 230V/12V adapter from Ali. These guys are living in the past with this perf/cost ratio. Thanks for going so indepth on this board, I'm looking for an sbc for a diy pad.. but its comparable(worse??) than an rk3588. These chips also lacks gpu drivers for different roms so thats a deal breaker. To anyone considering buying this, check the downloadable roms on their site before you buy! Its very lacking. These sbc manufacturers need to focus more on the software side of things.
Nice review 1) those hangs there may be related to mesa panfrost 2) video decoding is not there on mainline yet. You can get it working on libreelect on mainline, but it's not the case on common distros. Probably, you would need a lot of patched packages to get it working, if not the kernel itself. 3) I use armbian for most parts. I made a build some time ago, it should work on your board, but it wasn't a mature project. Could you test it to identify if the freezings are there too? Bc I don't experience those
It should be able to handle KDE without a problem. I think that the kernel is spamming dmesg or the serial console about something (because they may not have tested the image properly after making it and left a lot of unneeded dev stuff) and this is why the freezes happen. Doesn't look like a graphical issue...
I think you are right, because I noticed the stutter even in other ttys without DE running, probably some service with polling or timer or something. Hopefully they'll fix it soon, official image was totally unusable, at least for me.
If that wifi chip is as the same in the orange pi boards.... Well, it works, but not very good. You need to place the antenna very perpendicular to ur router antenna and, also, it may need some software optimization as 5G doesn't really works yet
I have the Radxa zero 2 and it works good for basic 1080 work. I may buy the pro version with big little cores, it should be much faster. The problem with Radxa is they don’t have a good software support. If they fix their software they be better than orange pi.
Super curious about the AI capabilities of the NIO 12L with that Genio 1200 chip. #AI #MachineLearning Anyone think it'll be good for facial recognition projects?
I believe you can, but it gets a bit hot, I would use it with some heatsink, without it, it would still work, but under heavy use it might throttle a bit
@@TechnicallyUnsure I contacted a collaborator of batocera in private on discord. I found his profile on the official Radxa server. In the retrogaming or images section. Demetris or something similar.
@@TechnicallyUnsure I already have the link but not yet the zero 2 pro. I am still waiting. I tried searching for your email but couldn't find it. If I can I'll send you the link right away.
I get it, you are right, KDE/Gnome is a close race, I wanted to say XFCE, but couldn't remember the name, sorry. But overall I think the stutter wasn't related to DE
