2:26 Basically he’s saying that Claire’s already been buried like 3 stories underground, and Rae could use her water magics to drown her as the cherry on top.
Honestly, I think it's a bigger insult to be holding back in a match after your opponent came out with their strongest weapon. Insult to the opponent, because they think it's a serious match, not so much for the challenger who kept half of their skills close at hand. It's a change of pace from every other anime fight where it goes all out, winner is the one left standing.
I really like this sequence of this episode mainly because of this duel between the two Main characters. It also funny that Claire was getting annoyed of Rae as well she being over beat by her at the end.
Late to the party (I know), but to those of you wondering why you're hearing the English audio on top of the SUB, RU-vid has a settings option to swap between both the Japanese audio and the English audio. And no, this isn't a new thing. RU-vid has had this feature for about couple of years now. I'm guessing Crunchyroll is only *_now_* utilizing this feature (which *_does_* admittedly make the Crunchyroll Dubs channel a bit redundant now).
@StrawMan1235 It is obvious that someone obsessed with you will know more than any stranger. And she saw Rae's talent with magic in the slime incident. She's just too proud to give up.
@@slavishentity6705 I mean giving up on challenging Rae on the first place. If you know she has an edge and you're likely to lose, why bother? But her pride won't let her back down.
@@moteroargentino7944 That might also be part of the promise. She won't give up on her rivalry with Rae. Besides, Claire has a winner's mentality ( "Try your best and don't die." ) not a loser's ( "If you're likely to lose, why bother ?" )
For some reason at around 0:15 it likes to randomly switch from the Japanese audio track to the English track. You can change it back in the settings, but what a strange glitch.
Could she have won quickly? Naturally. But then she wouldn't have all that time with her crush. Got to drag the whole thing out before getting a crushing victory.
It does frustrate me personally because I get theirs different audio tracks but it’s not like I can change them and at least stay that way with the Japanese audio. But I do like how Rae is a cheeky little brat and acknowledging how advantageous she was, most of the time, Fire stands no chance against the Water element!!! 💛❤️
Rae: 😁 Sorry, Miss Claire. I love you so, but seeing as this is an isekai, and as cliche as it is, this is the part where I win without going all out Claire: 😡 I don’t know what you are referring to, but there is absolutely no way a mere commoner can beat me, let alone without giving it their all. *loses* Claire: *shocked* HOW DID IT COME TO THIS?!!! Rae: 🤷🏻♀️ Like I said, it’s cliche
Rae held back cuz she wanted to see Claire fight. LoL. She gave herself a handicap just cuz she REALLY wanted to see her favorite person fight with all their power (and be the target of that power).
Ya know, Thane's right of course, but he and the other princes really shouldn't have interrupted the match like that. It's inappropriate. It would have been better if the ref had called the match and **then** had Thane explain to Miss Claire why she lost.
