It actually makes sense this way. In the old world, he’s considered a low life worker that is easily replaceable. In this world, he has a party that values and treats him like a human.

Yep. Despite how people think of gentleness and how they associate it with being weak, it's surprisingly difficult to do with without looking like a dumb pushover if done wrong. Most people does it wrong. In the first place, you can't be gentle without understanding what it means to be aggresive. It's different from just giving up and just taking whatever shit the world throws at you. It requires a hell lot of patience, and lots and lots of self-reflection. It's a trait you cannot have without practicing for years. Being gentle has nothing to do with being weak--it's about feeling secure, being at peace both internally and externally. In order to have that, you need to first have strength--something that gives you reassurance that whatever kind of shit happens in this world, you know you will be safe; like having a gun hidden underneath your clothes, for example, and you are ready to fire it at any threat, at any moment. It's only from that sense of security can someone truly be gentle. It is about having found your peace in this chaotic world, and extending it towards others.

Love the characters but honestly my only issue is the fact that 90% of these types of anime features someone who has absolutely ZERO reason to ever return to their original world. They always feature someone society ignored someone who has almost no connection with their family and the is doomed to die miserable and alone. Than we're supposed to be amazed that they decide to stay in this New World full of friends and adventures lol like they made some ultimate sacrifice
Well to come into perspective, isekai = another world. NEW WORLD for character to explore, that they cant do on their old world. In aspect of magic, probably the transportation magic itself was coded into transport someone that that type of background in the first place like u said. FK WE INTO FANTASY CONV RIGHT HERE 😂😂

I think that’s actually the point. A lot of people have the feeling of not really having anything going for them, so these types of stories resonate strongly in the psyche of viewers.
Well, that's the appeal of it. Being trapped in another world with no way back can get really depressing really fast if you actually had a happy life back home. The first example that came to my mind that displayed that clash of mentalities is Log Horizon. While some people were thriving in their new environment, others got depressed or plain insane, trying desperately to go back by any means necessary.

Finally, a character who won't let anything stop them from confessing. Raelza could probably got hit by a meteor, throw it back to outer space, and confess like nothing happened.
If you can handle the weird episodic nature of this anime with most episodes being self contained mini stories. with a loose over arching plot. This is a strangely good and fun anime well worth the watch, And though it doesn't seem like it some of the fights are very well animated.
Personality, I’d want the cheat skill Mitsuha got in _Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement._ That way I could head back to resupply with modern weapons and equipment and still enjoy this great new job I got. Literally the best of both worlds.
The difference is that there is some Schroddinger phenomena going on here. Its either Saitou was transported alive from his world, or he died and reincarnated to another world.
Here I thought it was a romance confession (considering how she acted & the blush) but it was most likely ruined & put back because of that ambush, so now we're just waiting for a 2nd season so she can confess to him (eventually)

Does this show get better? I dropped it after the first few episodes because the story seemed to like jumping around all over the place. But it looks like the story's actually moving forward now.
It's all over the placed because the manga's chapters are actually just a compilation of short stories. In episode 1 alone that already consist of a few chapters of the manga.

I just watch the clip of this anime. So before he got truck-kun service he's already isekai'd by the old geezer right? Therefore if he decided to return and god knows where he respawn and the time itself stopped or not. Wouldn't he killed anyway? It's like death loop on skyrim where you accidentally auto saved right before you meet your end
That is actually very self centered and selfish of Raelza. Getting angry about losing the one member that raises your party's status for your own benefit than what seems best for that individual is very selfish. If i saw that then i wouldn't even want to be in that party anymore.
After watching Disney/marvel movies where they are trying so hard to make a strong female characters and fail miserably just this small clip seems like a master piece. Raelza is one of the example of what a strong female character supposed to be like. She is strong but have weakness and acknowledges those weakness and Satou despite being powerless human in the world of magic and sword he is still a valuable members to a party full of superhumans. They don't need to make the man look like a total loser and the woman as a flawless entity to make a strong female character
So... Move back to home world where you feel useless, no one cares about you, and you pretty much live all alone. OR... Stay in epic world where there's magic, new lifeforms, awesome places, adventures, etc...and on top of that, a devoted waifu who loves and needs you. Like I'd give a fuck about home world. 🍷🗿

Just give it a chance. The short stories would actually tied together and make senses and give a really satisfying conclusion... I was like, "Ah, so that's why they did this, and that..." Plus the animation is superb and consistent up until the latest episode
I haven't watched it yet, but I heard somewhere else that's kinda the way her character is supposed to be seen. She is a woman, that isn't treated like a woman by anyone other than the MC.
