Two HAE aero engines supported the RAF Harrowbeer 1940 weekend.
An Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah radial engine from an Avro Anson aeroplane and operated by Mike Davey. The radial engine dates from 1945 and is rated at 420hp.
The Rolls-Royce Merlin is originally from an Avro Lancaster bomber, and is operated by David Irwin. The engine dates from 1943 and rated at 1,620hp.
The video is abridged and edited from two joint runs over the weekend.
Appearing at the end credits: HAE members Luke Roskilly, David Irwin, Mike Davey and our host Stephen Fryer.
HAE is a Facebook group of aero engine enthusiasts (see link below). The engine owners can display these engines at public events to inspire an interest in our aero engineering heritage, for visitors young and old.

The Historic Aero Engine group comprises aero engine enthusiasts from a variety of engineering and technical backgrounds, who share a common interest in researching, restoring, and preserving our aero engine heritage. Some of the engines are restored to ground running condition, and when invited, can display these at public events as a means of celebrating our heritage and inspiring the next generation of young engineers.
