I was a 46230 on the F111f 79-81 and dorms there were nothing like this luxury I’m looking at now , showers and latrine were way down the hall I’m just plain wowed by what im seeing ! Lakenheath also had an aeroclub which i was a member of
I was stationed at Raf Croughton which was a tiny base and our dorms were small and we shared the kitchen and bathroom with one other roommate take the opportunity to travel as much as possible
Balcony? Was that a balcony? Dishwasher? DISHWASHER? This is nuts. I shared one room with two other men we had bunks and removed with permission the bottom beds bed to have some sitting area.I had to buy my lazy boy recliner. We had a small dorm type fridge for the juice and beer.We paid for it. Nothing to cook with. P T stand outside our window was our balcony. But because it did not leak in the nightly West Georgia rain and the electricity always worked,no fires, we felt blessed. Amazing what troops get now.
