The RAF Red Arrows performed their fly-past on the opening night of the Isle of Wight Festival 2021 which is being held at Seaclose Park in Newport.
The 10 red jets were scheduled to pass over the Island from 17:00 on the opening night of the festival on Thursday 16th September 2021 having taken off from nearby Bournemouth Airport.
They were supposed to fly over the festival site before heading to Sandown and heading along the south coast, over The Needles and back to Bournemouth, however, due to a reported light aircraft entering or becoming too close to the no-fly zone, their plans were aborted.
In the end, the piolets flew to the southwest of the Isle of Wight near Freshwater which left fans in Sandown and other locations along the coast disappointed.
However, those who managed to see the display in Newport and Ryde were amazed by the display, as per usual.
