I was Tornado GR1 for 7 years + ish , i was a leckie/instruments and conventional and Nuke strike tech , it was bloody hard work ,the Soooties which are propulsion techs was dropping engines like confetti , dont get me wrong it may have been great and the flight crew on the bomber was very good and they had many stresses of their own !

I remember my parents buying this on VHS was called strike command. Was a hour documentary with jags and harriers as well. Does anybody know if the full documentary is on RU-vid anywhere. Thanks for sharing.

These babies would fly so low over our fish farm up the Yarrow Valley heading for Moffat in the early 2000's ...a few had to pull up to clear the Poplar trees...you had no idea they were there until it was too late and your brain would go into overload as they went overhead...the noise and the weird stuff that followed was crazy , they had a hard right turn straight away then a sharp left before blasting up the valley They just looked right in the air with that huge tail fin...the Typhoon always looks nose up to me

@@joluqamalta2815 you didn't really get to watch cos it was over in a split second but some folk would go up on the hill where they made that right turn and got a better look ...the noise was insane. Fabulous aircraft the Tornado and a joint European project making it even better (Panavia). I miss them actually , the training was intense in 2002/3 getting ready for Iraq 2.

Used to watch them ripping over my home in the Forest of Dean almost daily in the 90’s. Tornados, jaguars, harriers, hawk trainers. Sometimes they’d train directly overhead for over 20 minutes. Don’t see any now, not sure why it suddenly stopped. Any ideas? Haven’t seen a fast jet fly over in about 7 years, and that was the first time in many years that I’d seen one.
