This is a repost of a deleted video and though similar in layout to other related titles about the Base, it focuses in more detail on Housing both on Woodbridge Base and Bury Hill in Melton. The video also features the former Elementary School.
Overall, this presentation might interest those USAF Service Members and their Families or even British Army Personnel who either commuted to or lived on the Base during their assignment/posting? Equally, anyone who lived in Bury Hill Housing may be surprised at how little that area has changed over the years...

Can't believe I found this! I was researching online for images of the base housing (lived there 1964-1974) as I have no personal pictures - only in my mind. In Google Earth I can pretty much figure out where (back of house faced a forest and kitchen window faced a neighbor's kitchen window as my bio mother always stuck her tongue out to that neighbor when she saw her in her kitchen). Its not a huge forest but to a little girl it is! So the elementary school, is that the same one back in the 60s? We moved to the States in '74. Within a couple of years I ended up in the foster system and no contact with most of my bio family since. What memories I do have cannot be confirmed by parents or siblings and you know what they say about memories as we get older... I thank you for bringing childhood memories back to me! I know you say this is the longer version of your video - but to me it's not long enough! :) Bless you for this!

Another great video, Dad got stationed there in 83 to 87. Can't believe the elementary school is still there, seeing the gym for the school I was automatically transported back there. We didn't live on base, we lived in military housing in Saxmundham.

Hi again James. Thank you. We lived in Bury Hill Housing hence why it features in the video. Sorry, I've got nothing about Saxmundham Housing. Yes, the Elementary School survives and in the same color scheme as I remember? You mention the School Gym. My abiding memory of the School is of the Dorman Memorial Stadium and its Memorial Archway. Thankfully, part of it was recovered before the redevelopment of the Base which effectively is the only tangible reminder left of our School. I only have good memories of my time at the 'Twin Bases' (1975-78). I wish you well.. Mark.
