Martin's most muscular ist the most beautiful thing on Bodybuilding stage i saw all year long if not all years long. For me one of the very best and aesthetic of all time, just look at that ❤
Martin has become a new favorite of mine. He's pretty hard to pick apart, a lot of his issues are just lack of overall size in the upper body (when he went against Nick) and presentation/posing. His proportion and balance are just so good, though. Wish his arms were a little bigger and more detailed, but Derek has the same issue and he's doing ok. Lower body condition is great, and for that reason alone he's gonna place higher than Rafa at the Olympia.
Nope, not at all. Martin makes Rafael look 2 week out. The only dominant thing in Rafael is his shoulders and quads. But Martin is better in everything else
@@NicksFitnessYT lmao, big ramy? And we literally saw him side by side with samson in Arnold, he looks better, Samson's midsection gets washed out in the front lat spread.
That was a close thing man very nice! You should do a 5 man comparison between these two, andrew, krizo and hunter after they have qualified, i think this would be very interesting.
Rafael is one of the most aesthetic bodybuilder today. He wins this match against Martin although Martin has a very slightly better condition. At this year Mr. O, Rafael might shock some minds, now that he's training with Jorlan Vieira. Personally I see Rafael easily in the top 8. Martin could be right after!
_Rafa wins the front poses and the side poses while Martin wins the back poses, I think Rafa wins because he has a more polished and aesthetic physique, you see more cuts and separations, While Martin is more blurry in these areas, he is still very dominant from the back and this makes for a very balanced duel between them._
I think Martin does enough in the side tricep to take it, imo the lighting & angle are washing out the detail in his delt & arm. In every other shot we see how much more peeled Martin is, and I think his flow and X-frame in the side tri are just so much better than Rafael despite the height difference.
Man, these guys are super close. I have Rafa winning simply because he hits both lat spreads better. Any other pose is pretty much neck and neck. I wouldn't wanna be a judge with those two on the stage.
@@gregwarwick8655 yea ive done a lat spread. Main difference is im only 190 pounds. My thinking is its alot harder with all the extra tissue. Probly some of it gets in the way of the completion of the pose. I wonder if there is some stretches they could be doing to help.
I think I'm alone but Brandao's quads, delts and aesthetics are all beating Martin's usual strengths. Add to that kills him on arms and chest... hard to pick Martin, as much as everyone's high on him.
We need to, as a community, be cautious of reaching the consensus that Martin's winning this one. The timeless appeal of true, clean aesthetics needs to be appreciated. Not least cause it's such a rarity these days. And not pushed aside because someone has gnarlier glute-ham tie-ins.
Good comparison, good analysis as usual. Hey - how about Flex '93 Arnold vs. Bumstead whenever he was at his best. I read that Flex weighed 216lbs., so he would have made Classic... I think.
Uh, Rafael beating Martin in the side shots, really? Martin was pushing Nick in the side shots, arguably winning, according to the IFBB head judge no less. Rafael ain't TOUCHING Nick Walker in the side shots. Also, just from these pictures alone, I guess you could make an argument for side chest but CERTAINLY not in the side tricep. Unless you just want to judge things in a way that's wholly inconsistent with modern judging standards. And then the back shots? Lol... Are you kidding me man in that back double? Martin's back is bigger and looks three times as thick and bubbly. Despite being the smaller guy. Z e r o contest. Brandao has better delts and arms, but not by much, and Martin's wiping the floor with him in the leg department. So a pretty ez win for Martin in the BDB.
Hey I agree with your opinions, but to be fair to MMM, bodybuilding does have a little bit of a rock, paper, scissors thing where bodybuilder 1 looks better than 2 and 2 looks better than 3, but 3 looks pretty decent compared to 1. it's not a huge effect and doesn't always happen, but in this case martin faired really well against Nick. He's like perfectly suited to combat Nick.
@@FormerIFBBJudge It makes a lot of difference when a shorter guy is placed at the same height as a taller guy in photos and he will appear to have a lot more muscle.
@@gabriellr1986 You got it backwards the shorter man will look more muscular. Big muscles on a shorter frame always look bigger than on a tall frame IE Quinton.
Martin loses one shot and thats the front lat. Martin making Brando looking like he couldn't be top five in the national level. The conditioning Brando brought at the Brazil was almost criminal. Rapheal is a borderline classic guy compared to Martin. Lmao at anyone thinking this is close. Wtf Brazilian bodybuilding fans know bodybuilding and they know if Raphael brings that amateur conditioning to the Olympia, he won't even sniff the top 10.
but do they really go for the more conditioned guy in such a close matchup? that's not how Tonio Burton lost though, to an even worse conditioned Rafael.
Fitzwater beats Rafael with conditioning all day long. Given that they’re so few differences between their physiques with regards to muscle size it’s going to come down to conditioning and Fitzwater is going to take that.
@@gabriellr1986 To me Raf MM its outstanding its his best pose, he just bring a beauty in this pose that hits different because the ideia of this pose is the oposite so he is great in a different way than someone like Coleman, Rhul and even Dexter that in this pose look agressive af. His MM remind me of Flex Lewis
Martin's side leg on the side chest is destroying Rafael and the Side Tricep is better...they are very similar in build and shape! I have Martin winning by a hair in this comparison.
