I really appreciate the more structured paddling plan with a new person but the zen method is really fun when you vibe with the other paddler. Communication is key. Love your videos.
Start with basic raft maneuver vocab and build. Every pair is different. I switch it up a lot and my most frequent partner likes nearly everything called. Others particularly those I have kayaked with a lot just need to call out moves and we adjust our finesse/muscle ratio along the way.
First dumb question, what does the R stand for? I love love to go but iam lucky and have a class v r1 guy so rarely is it stressful (I only do class 3/4) I'll be on s for. American this summer can I go with you guys!??
R1 = 1 rower, R2 = 2 rowers, R3, etc. You might even see C2 (2 canoeists). It’s just a way of saying how many people are paddle rafting. This is in contrast to frame-rigged rafts and catarafts with oars. Have fun!
@@allancampbell4075 well, R2 you’re paddling not rowing. The R stands for “raft” just like the C in C2 stands for “canoe”. Great vid and looking forward to more in this series!
