This half an hour concert was performed as part of Pandit Nikhil Banerjee Memorial Concert hosted by my Guru, Pandit Partha Chatterjee. Accompanying on tabla is Vikas Yendluri. www.bansuriflute.com
I can't tell you how many times I come back to this video... I have now spent the last 7 years listening to Hindustani music every day and that's not an exaggeration. In that 7 years I have heard a handful of truly transporting versions of Maru Bihag and this is one of them. Thank you Prasad for lighting the way and making me feel like I can do it and play this well someday.
Superb flawless, melodious, relaxing and moving rendition of Maru Bihag, I have ever listened to from one of the most talented Bansuri player in the world today. Pandit Nikhil Banerjee would have been proud of you. God Bless Ramesh
Dear Prasad Bhadrakar....I really like the way you play the ragas...and as expected .I am a great fan of you and your flute...I am myself a very small time player (or rather learning to play..)...I have watched all your videos and watch your style of playing to practice as well ..though its really hard to do it....Respect and best wishers..Plz keep uploading..
The bansuri: paradoxically both one of the most simple instruments in the world and one of the hardest to play well. The music in this video is ethereal and other-worldly - not to mention stupendously beautiful. Than you for the upload.
Sir, the opening notes of your alap were the most achingly accurate echo and evocation of Pandit Nikhil's moods that I've ever heard. Thank you, very deeply.
Flawless. Superb. Sincere. Just heard your rendition of hansadhwani and maru bihag. I am UK based. Look forward to seeing you play live. Really enjoying it. Listening to it as I am commenting. Best wishes.
@bubmaterial I was wondering about the same thing some time ago and after some googling I discovered something called Indian harmonium. Supposedly it was based on european design and modified for needs of Indian musicians.
this is realy fuckin great. while there not playing though what is that instrument goin on in the backround sortof keeping all of it together? is that a sitar?
Bonjour, pouvez vous m'indiquer ou puis je acheter ces morceaux de musique soit dans magasin ou sur site en France ? Merci c'est toujours un ravissement !!!
hello prasad, is it possible to get somehow the recordings from ur hariji lessons. there is a link on ur bansuriflute web-page but there is nothing behind it (at least it shows an error after having clicked on it). I would realy like to hear those, so it would be more than great if u have any idea?!
