Thanks for taking us on a ride. People need to learn how to ride in extreme Temps. I'm in Phoenix and feel qualified. Light colors and flowing fabrics that cover all skin. Ride on!
I saw you a couple times and so much wanted to talk to you as Norway is at the top of my bucket list destinations. I'll get there one day for an extended self-supported tour. You two were moving along pretty good. Hope you had a great ride! -Keith
For a small town local band, they did real well. I played the b-flat clarinet for 9 years and there's no way I could even begin to match them nowadays. Thanks for watching!
I hope that the person in the crash is alright. When I passed, I saw one person on the ground not moving. Sad that crashes happen. Hope you had a great ride. Thanks for watching!
They will recover thanks to a lot of help from fellow riders and a great team at St. Luke’s. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-em6dAPb_deM.htmlsi=TXVmWpMYalfyE3g2
We actually did ride self-supported from Moline to Sioux City except for a few miles in the middle to reduce the total mileage. That's how we typically do that ride. Thanks for watching!
Great Video Guys. Nice to see a different perspective on RAGBRAI. It was my first RAGBRAI and enjoyed it so much. Must come back but a long journey from London, England.
Thanks for the video. “L” was my first time In Iowa but won’t be the last. Already planning next year and thinking of bagging from/to large airports at each end. My wife has a standard line about not being bound by arbitrary goals, especially those set by others. Make your own rules and if a “fast forward “ from renting a car makes sense for you then do it.
I typically bag that ride, but with the longer distance and the heat, I cheated and used the truck. We found it easy to drive into and then bicycle away from the airports on the eastern border of Iowa. Smaller airports in smaller towns make that much easier. Glad you enjoyed Iowa. People are very friendly there. You picked a big year for your virgin ride! -Keith
When I rode in 2012, a lottery was used to choose the riders, and there was only 8000 week long slots available, but I made it. This year I don't know if they used the lottery system, but from what I've heard there was as many as 30,000 riders. So there is your baggage problem :)
No lottery this year and yes there were about 30,000 riders. Fortunately, I was an early riser and avoided most all of the long lines. Thanks for watching!
Well done! I saw in your gear video that you originally planned to bike from Moline to Nashville after RAGBRAI. Were you feeling too spent to continue? I don't blame you, I was wiped out, too!
Physically, we were fine, but we were tired of being wet all the time from sweating. Trying to sleep in a warm tent while slightly sweating became a bit old, despite having our small battery operated fans. Hope you had a great RAGBRAI ! IT was fun despite the heat...
@@miseyrides I hear you! It was indeed so very hot. But it was a great experience. Glad I was able to pace myself, withstand the heat, and ride it all. No shame to anyone who didn't!
We like doing long distance touring rides. In 2019 we did Route 66 from LA to Chicago and have done many other multi-week tours together as well. Our original plan was to ride back to TN from Iowa after RAGBRAI was over, but we had both had enough of the heat. In early November I’m doing a 2-3 week long loaded solo bike tour in SE Georgia. Video will follow that when it’s over. Thanks for watching!!
