Great question! I’m very blessed to have 2 boys who do not spray at all, very clean, I just be sure to change their litter more often as male cat urine does have a very potent odour even if not spray. One boy I have is extremely pungent, I have a large enclosure next to my home for him with his own garden, he’s happy as long as he has ladies for company. I will agree with you though! I have no idea how breeders in high rise apartments or small properties manage pungent stud males.

@ringoffireragdolls I have had Ragdoll cats since 1971. I currently have two Ragdoll cats. I thought about keeping them intact, but I'm very sensitive to smells and absolutely cannot deal with the smell of cat urine. So they are both fixed. I've thought of breeding Ragdolls because of my love for the breed, but I have never known how to completely avoid spraying by cats... especially the males. I'm in California btw.

Hi there, Okay, first thing I would do is get a vet check. I’m not sure if you meant she is pregnant or if she is currently giving birth. If you just found out she is pregnant then take her to your vet for a check and potentially and x-ray to see how many kittens and get an idea of how far along she is, vet can also prescribe quality kitten food for her. If she is currently giving birth, monitor closely, write down times of birth and if each kitten is delivered with a placenta. If you suspect any difficulty, call your vet. I would strongly recommend if you are not a breeder to desex your cat along with her kittens at 12 weeks old. If she has been roaming and the father is unknown you will need to have her tested for FIV. I have an earlier video, I think my 3rd or 4th made with an enclosure setup, I might look at making another one soon. Best of luck, if I can be of any further help let me know.

@@ringoffireragdolls thank you! I know her father. He’s also one of my cats. I have a ragdoll and I’m hoping to start a cattery my town since they don’t have ragdolls in this area as much. Shes not giving birth yet. She’s just 3-4 weeks into her pregnancy so she just started showing. Do you think you can make a video of what to do for kittens from the time they are born till like they are about a week old. I know the first three days are crucial. But I haven’t found any videos where they say the weighing and how much milk to feed the baby if the mother rejects in the beginning. She’s a first time mom so I am a bit scared. Also I switched her food to kitten food. Which is mostly pate and she hates it. She keeps wanting to eat her regular wet/dry food. What do I do in this case ? Feed her what she wants to feed mixed with little bits of kitten food or carry on letting her get used to kitten food ? I’ve been giving her a spoon every hour or two hours for her to eat the kitten food along with her dry food mixed with kitten dry food.

Hi there, apologies for delay, yes I can make a video on care for the first few days, I have a single winter litter due in 2 weeks, I can do this then. For food, yes nutrition is important, sometimes though if mother cat is fussy it’s best to just feed her as much as she will eat of what she wants. I would recommend if possible to consult with your local veterinarian throughout the process.

Hi there, The first 3 days are so important for kittens, has your kitten latched on to mother cat to nurse? Is she caring for it? I would call your vet back and explain the situation, they should be able to fit you in for an emergency, if not, worth ringing around to find another vet clinic that will.
