My best friend’s older brother worked security at a few venues in the late 90s. We were all Rage fans and he would tell us crazy stories about their live shows. He said something I still think about all the time - the band had the power to radicalize a whole middle class generation for ninety minutes, and if he hadn’t been mesmerized himself, the crowd would’ve been terrifying. When I finally saw them in ‘99 it was exactly like he said. The most incredible and compelling human energy I’ve ever experienced.
I got to meet Tom, Tim, Brad, and Chris at a wedding when I was 14. I couldn't believe it when the bride walked me over to meet them. As kids, she grew up alongside all of them. I remember not knowing who Chris Cornell was and not realizing RATM had become Audioslave as they hadn't made the announcement yet. After that day, I never stopped practicing my guitar.
@@Count.Ravioli audioslave was pretty overtly and primarily the RATM guys wanting to continue as a unit once the relationship with ZDLR became unworkable lmao
@@leonard_vakhin they just played with ACDC and Metallica in Moscow in 1991 in front of 500 000 spectator, and reinvented all the Metal culture in the '90, that's all 👀
Tom Morello's net worth: 30 million dollars. 5.2 million dollar property in Los Angeles. Zach de la Rocha net worth: 25 million dollars. 3.7 million dollar property in Malibu. May I assure you, your rights and freedoms as a worker are protected by people you never heard of and probably never will...
@@olegloginov2953 Do you expect them to live in a shed? Or should they just burn all their money. Because even if they didn't spend it, they would probably save it for their familys to inherit, but then you still wouldn't be happy, because at the end of the day your just mad you dont have what they have.
Profiting on "evil" capitalism for years lol. It's cool to be a marxist until it messes with your f@ckin cash. They still rock like no other band ever.
@@olegloginov2953 Tom's literally a member of the IWW. Having money doesn't preclude you from fighting for working class people. Having more or less money means basically nothing. What matters is your relation to capital.
When this went down, I was about 2 years into playing bass. Tim is the shiznack, like Popeye's Chicken... ...seeing them in TO in July and Winnipeg in May '23. YNWA RATM
It is so refreshing to see the people in the audience being fully present at the concert... and not just worrying about capturing it on a damn smartphone
Bro i remember coming from school in 2011 dropping my backpack turning on the tv and putting this on yt on my ps3 going insane then a couple years later it was off yt now I found it . You are my savior I’m literally crying jamming to this . I just want to say thank you. ✊
I admire the hell outta guitarists like Tom Morello, The Edge (U2), Daniel Ash (Bauhaus), Joni Mitchell, Adrian Belew (Talking Heads), Robert Fripp (King Crimson), etc., who go BEYOND mere scales and chords, using their instrument to make SOUNDS that intensify rhythm, atmosphere - you name it!!! That said, Morello is one of the greatest rock guitarists on the planet!!! LL
@@RyanSmith-tt6jr if that's true then why did Zack leave the band twice, stating irreconcilable creative differences? I think of them as legendary but they definitely had ups and downs. They're human after all.
@@BrokeTheSeal He only left once. Every show since 2000 is them reuniting for a tour, not touring with any new music etc. They famously said they couldn't even agree on t-shirt logos let alone creative differences. There's actually an interview of them at an early Audioslave show where they were a bit snarky about Zack and it broke my heart back then. I'm counting the days till 2022 when their postponed tour starts. My friends already know not to try to keep track of me and I'll have lost my voice. I will be devastated if they cancel. 🤘
Consider myself a huge RATM fan. Saw them in 1997 in Camden NJ with the Wu-Tang Clan and have seen too many to count live performances here on YT and I have to admit this is the best live show I have seen to date. Long live RATM ! Thanks for posting this madness.
Always was a HUGE fan of Rage Against the Machine. Still listen to them to this day. Own every cd they ever made. What I never realized before watching this concert is that Rage Against the Machine is actually hip hop but in a rock kind of way. Never liked hip hop or rap. I learned a lot by watching this video. Thanks for posting, great job! 👍
The guitar and the bass sound mighty rock n raw on this recording, me likey alot. Couldn't believe i never saw this live show of them. Just amazing...!! Thank you for uploading this one man! 🙏🏾
I still own this on DVD, but don't have a player any more. Looked it up on youtube today cos I'm giving the DVD to someone tomorrow. Thank goodness for youtube!!!
The opening... ..."check 1-2" followed by that guitar is my favorite thing RATM have ever musically done. I play that melody on the keyboard all the time for my daughter. "All said, All true, Know your father, Loves you. When all dies down, All comes through, I as your father, Loves you."
The hardest band ever, not just for the loud music but the explosive lyrics. This is music for a revolte, for questioning and protest, music as a weapon.

The day of the 2nd show my buddy jumped on a pay phone to tell me that there were tickets at the box office. I was there 20 mins later and the rest is history.
Amazing music with a powerful message. Bless to RATM and other rebellious groups like Public Enemy, Dead Prez, Immortal Tech, Sage Francis, Locksmith, Lowkey, Kate Tempest, Akala, Bob Vylan, Allflaws
I don’t think there’s any footage of it out there but I saw them in 96 at Cobo Hall in Detroit and it was by far the craziest show I’ve been to and I’ve been to at least 50 shows including Rage a second time
Sleep on in the fire
Let the good times roll Let There be Rock and Roll peace and love Rage Against the Machine always thanks a lot you guys you guys rock✌️❤️✌️🎤🤘🤘🤘🤘🌏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🙄😁✌️❤️👍🎸🥁
Que buen recital LPM que buen show!! Unos monstruos, en plena pandemia mirar esta joyita te deja alta manija de RATM ojalá verlos en vivo algún día y morir en el pogo seria muy feliz XD
