He was going to be drafted #1 overall by The Boys, but the Argonauts gave him insane money! I grew up close to him and he was awesome in high school and I loved when he went to Notre Dame (to me the most exciting college player) and then he ended up with The Boys years later. He would have put up crazy numbers in today's pass happy league! He could score anytime he touched the ball!! My all-time favorite player!!!

People forget how blazing fast he was ! And also Troy Aikman's pocket awareness was so damn good.

No problem 👍, thanks for watching. They were definitely way less strict back then. I have a lot respect for the players who played during that era of the game.

Just watched 👀 "The Rocket" on Fox Sports College Game Day. Refreshing to hear him speak and give us a bit of his wisdom. Especially liked watching those old clips of him blasting off with those punt returns ... "Take it to the house!" Fun, fun, fun. Real football, real man. Class act.

Thats the difference between Dak and Troy you have to be "open" in order for Dak to throw you the long ball, Troy he "threw you open". Big difference that could result in big plays.

I remember in 1993 when the Raiders had Rocket Ismail, James Jett (Olympic gold medal winner), Tim Brown, Alexander Wright (2-time NFL's fastest man), and Willie Gault in their receiving corps. Too bad they didn't have the right QB (Jeff Hostetler) throwing them the ball. Talk about insane and elite speed!

Just think how much more connections of him and Aikman would have had , had Ismail not opted to go to Canada for pro football career. Instead we got stuck in drafting Russell Maryland instead.
