DJ's shooting style works great for the non-build videos, he's really grown as a vlogger on his own channel. Also love that Ant/Tony is starting to talk more, we wanna hear what you think bud!
These type of videos are the only thing that's been missing from the channel. Helps link the reason for wrenching on em. Like next videos could be brake upgrade on the Kouki and swapping suspension on the Zenki
Taylor Ray used the same swap kit on his cefiro and found a lot of the vibration is from the trans crossmember check out what he did with with valve springs to dampen the vibrations.
Personally I think it's all the solid mounts in the kit in general. If you watch Tommy too, when he drove obsessed garage's civic, they talked about how the solid mounts would rattle your bones so they had to switch back to stock rubber mounts to make it driveable.
I’ve been keeping track! Taylor’s definitely had some good input. It’s easy to tell the trans hold a lot of blame for the vibration, problem is I love the bmw trans. Ugh! Hahah
Hahaha yeah was just about to say this too. Adam be having a shit ton of bad luck with SRs lately. Personally I think it's high time he went K24 already. A built K24 would easily hold a lot of power, much higher than a built SR would and the midrange torque means you wouldn't have to be at redline constantly for max power
A couple things that really help with the harmonics of the drive train. Since taking out the balance shafts in the engine for the K20a oil pump. It is great to get a fluid damper crank pulley for engine vibrations. And as for clutch trans engagement. Using a clutch delay valve will help from not having a guibo and dual mass flywheel. 👌
i would love to see you fix the vibration problem in the k-swap i do think taylor ray fixed his issue in the cefiro!! you should maybe hit him up to see if he has some pointers? i love both the car and all you guys bro
BEST CONTENT ON RU-vid. PERIOD. I love your build content, and didn't even realize I'd like this kind of vid so much too. It's kind of refreshing. We've seen you build all these different cars but rarely see you go out and enjoy them all! Someone else said it in the comments, that DJ's shooting style is good for this kind of video. I guess I'm gonna finally have to check out his channel...👀
Took my mazdaspeed3 to an industrial park after watching this lol that was fun. Haven’t done that in a while as it’s my daily.Drive and enjoy your cars guys. Life is short.
Love the video style. Good to see the dudes having some fun! Would love to see more of these type of video’s of the whole squad having fun and enjoying their builds and not wrenching their life away 😜 don’t get me wrong, i like those vids to but you guys should enjoy the builds some more 😉 keep it up!
Highly enjoy the driving clips with no music. I’d be down to see more videos focusing on driving. Like to see some more long smooth curvy road driving videos with each car. I’d like to see Nissonda hit some roads like that.
So glad to see the cars out , I love to see the builds but is more joyful to see them on the road doing what they're meant to do , keep up the good work!!
Definitely a lot of vibration. I have a fully built Frankenstein k24a2 bottom end and k20z3 head and it’s wild in my 8th gen everything shakes especially the Trans and clutch set up also the oil pump is what makes the motor shake so much. and what not but other than Mr. James love the build man. Kseries is the way to go. Keep up the good work sir 💪🏽💪🏽
Love the video as always. I think the only thing the driving videos need adding is an extra camera angle looking back at you, maybe mounted on the windscreen.
Love both of these cars, but sometimes I feel like you guys are silly kids for having them so low that the suspension can't do what it's designed to do. I mean, I get there is a look part to it, but I would choose function over form every time. Time for a big brake kit on Nissonda.
I seriously wanted to comment “I’d like to see how good these cars would be if they had a decent suspension setup” Like they look good sitting still, but it could be so much better for driving if there was some travel in the suspension.
I thinks it’s been almost a year, maybe much longer since I’ve watched a Jimmy video, terrible I know but life sometimes. It’s crazy to see how far the channels come, both in terms of growth and quality. Gutted I’ve been missing out on such good content but bonus is I have so much goodness to catch up on.
Wrap a rag around the shifter and cut a hole in an old beanie and place that over the shifter thatl help with some of the noise helped me alot when my throw out bearing was going bad
I don't think you do driving videos not because you are not good at them, they are just not fun period. Very good point about the car being a pain in the rear as a daily driver. Waiting for your next video. Keep up the absolutely awesome work!!!!
Meanwhile I'm scrapyard surfing for a door to my Cherokee because it fell off in the parking lot at work... lol... Didn't think a west coast truck would have that problem. Oh well! Cars are looking slick, Jimmy. Get some good driving in before the season changes!
Would love to see this type of video with the two Z's.... Started following back in the day bc it was the only Z content on RU-vid!!!! Love the 240s but man those Z's!!! Lol
Dude I'm not sure why you stress so much about filming driving content lol, this was awesome to watch! Do a headmount cam, and go LZ style by putting a mic in the engine bay... Then head out and enjoy the HELL outta your cars bro, we're here for it!
My advice on the brakes, try loosing the slotted, cross-drilled rotors. We had an Silverado 3500 in the shop for poor brake performance. Everything in the brake system checked out but it had that style of rotor and it was obvious that the pad surface was getting chewed up and obviously not allowing the pads to bead in properly. After just doing the front brake there was a noticeable difference.
You need to Dampen the vibrations coming off the trans. Taylor Ray did a DIY on his car and eliminated a lot of the vibration from the drivetrain. check it out.
It seems that everyone has complained or said that those engine mounts/trans mount is way to stiff and everything vibrates to all hell lol maybe try switching them out for something softer if you're really gonna be streeting it. But awesome content the kouki is my absolute dream 😍 even color motor wheels. Just amazing!
Hey jimmy, you got all these cool looking cars, And you wanna tounge monster why not set one up with a set of sticky 200 tread wear tires and a race alignment? I think the kswap would be ideal for it but I wanna see more of your builds have purpose
Drilled slotted rotors ceramic pads, bleed the brakes and dot 3 fluid Nd you won’t regret it. From Ct also Nd I love all of your builds probably will never stop watching everyday lol
The Kouki looks so fresh, but the Zenki looks like grandma's Geo Prizm from the front. They give off completely different vibes even though they're so similar.
