Hello Alessa and Brett, what a beautiful Castle ruin, when you were at the top looking down it was very very high, amazing views. Loved the spiral staircase and the fireplaces, lovely narration and the drone footage show the castle off in its glory. Thank you so much for sharing, have a great week, Julie and Tony x
Oh I love me a Welsh castle!!! 🏰🏴 And I'm captivated by those hexagonal towers! And I spy a wee bread oven there too... I am a fan of those as well ❤🥖
this castle was HUGE! this one was really spectacular alessa & brett. this really is what you imagine when someone says castle. and i really like the bits of green lawn throughout the grounds. they really highlight the stone around it. i just kept trying to imagine what it must have looked like in entirety in it's heyday. have a great week! 🛴❤
Hi Alessa & Brett! What a magnificent castle! It's massive and mighty. The views from the top were stunning. Loved the spiral staircase. I would have loved to see it back in the day. I would definitely visit if I was in South Wales. The drone footage was fabulous. You could really appreciate the scale of the building from above. Thanks for a very enjoyable video ❤❤
This one is an absolute BEAUT! So magnificent! As always great historical information beautifully told! Super music choices! Looks even grander from the skies! Gorgeous! Have a great week ahead guys 👍❤️
We love this castle and were there last year when they had people dressed in medieval clothes. The castle must have been absolutely stunning. We didn't know that poor Herbert met such a gruesome end. Thank you for bringing some sunshine to Wales. We agree that it is one of the best but we do like Chepstow Castle on the River. Thanks for the great video! Elaine, Mike, Samuel and Thomas 😍😎👬
I totally agree! Thank you so much Elaine, Mike, Samuel and Thomas, love your comments! What a treat to have people dressed up in the attire, so fun!! Thank you so much again, I have to say for me it's Raglan, BUT Chepstow is mighty special too, I think Wales just really shines when it comes to the fortresses' that were built! Hope you're all well!
That castle is massive and you going through the entrance makes it more grand and intimidating. It's crazy how that was once was a pinnacle of defense. Beautifully narrated with lovely aerial shot at the end. Take care
Thank you so very much, such high compliments!! It's quite the feat seeing the gatehouse on arrival, really sets the tone for the rest of the castle, one of my favourites in Wales! Thank you for watching, appreciate you!
Wonderful walk through at this beautiful castle. Amazing how they could build such a stunning place way back then. Thank you for the interesting history and views. 👍😊🇨🇦
Very impressive castle ruin. Stunning view from the top of the tower. It is so cool to see, that there are so much left of the castle to see. Amazing walking tour of the castle ruin.
@@PinnedonPlaces This summer, I'm planning on visiting 2 castle ruins, which I haven't visited before. Near one of them, there is a church, that looks interesting.
That entrance is quite impressive...such rich history and beautiful grounds...the views from above are stunning, what a lovely place to visit! That drone footage is outstanding! Great job Brett and Alessa...sorry I missed, my Son calls on Alexa once a week with the Grandchildren...seems this is the new time for them...I am totally inspired to see this one day! Beautifully done!
Wow! That opening shot was amazing with the blue sky and the plane going over. I seem to remember going to Raglan Castle (I think it is near the lovely town of Usk) many years ago but I had forgotten all about its history, so this was a good reminder. It remains a very impressive structure. Thank you for sharing. Take care, Paul
You always do such an amazing job with narrating the history of these spectacular castles Alessa. This castle and the grounds are magnificent. I hope you are doing great! Thanks so much for the virtual tour. I'll get there someday! 😊👍
Wow, this video really showed me just how AMAZING Raglan Castle is 🤩 The history is so fascinating👍 Also, love that you mentioned other nearby castles - gotta go on a castle roadtrip! 🏰 Thanks for the awesome content! 😊
I am very happy that I had the opportunity to learn something about the history of this magnificent castle. Your editing and information you gave us are great.
@@PinnedonPlaces Haha, well I mentally check every place for flying fpv but as it's staffed sight and can't be entered in case of a crash I thought: probably not...
Beautiful, informative sharing as always! Lots of love and respect from a solo mountain hiker from the Hindu Kush Mountains Lower Chitral District of Pakistan!
Wow what an impressive castle to explore. It's so interesting to visit old fortresses like this. Thanks for sharing this cool video. It's very informative 👌
Great video! I enjoyed the castle tour and fabulous narration!❤ The huge Tudor window is great to see... glad it survived! Lovely day you had to explore Raglan! I'm hoping that when we board a plane ✈️ tomorrow we can arrive to some nice weather 🙏☀️. Cheers! XX Dara
Raglan Castle must have been a sight to see back in the day! The views from the top of the tower were beautiful. Sounds like we need to get a drawbridge for our house LoL Would definitely get lost in the moments exploring the castle and thinking about what it once was. Thanks for tour guys!
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you ever so much for your kind comments, your time and support, so encouraging. Wouldn't mind living here myself, but you know.. not a king or queen haha!! So cool to be able to explore though and a must do if in S Wales, thanks again for your kind comments!
A big castle this, I filmed it with my Drone long before I had a camera to walk around it, I’d of gladly let you use some of my footage, but I look forward to seeing the inside 😃
Thank you so much for commenting and watching, it is indeed such a shame, just glad he didn't completely destroy Raglan as it's a privilege to be able to walk these ruins!
The story of Raglan could have been so different if it wasn't for Lord Herbert. Another act of destruction from Thomas Fairfax. He destroyed so much after the English Civil War. Such a shame as Raglan could have been as impressive as Windsor Castle which is I believe is where Herbert is buried.
I’ve just revisited this castle to film it properly ( not just drone ) and I’m amazed after rewatching how we filmed certain pieces so similar. I’m currently on a mission to re film some of the castles that I visited to film them properly, with the GoPro… well the ones I think are worth doing anyhow, which this one most certainly was. 🫡
Dara I know.. it was a letdown for us too! Although beer and ale brewed in there instead can't be a bad thing hehe. Wierd that it was named a buttery, you would totally think it would be a home for butter obviously but also dairy products.. those middle ages eh? Haha!
