Join me, The Smooth Operator, in the immersive world of Ragnarok Online as we embark on a thrilling journey with our new Thief character, aptly named "Guess who is back." In this episode, I start all over again at level 1 with my new reborn High Novice. While that is happening, I'm going to address some comments.

I absolutely love your videos. Every year, I go through my dips of nostalgia and the crave to play RO. I played very casually, so I don't know everything about the logistics and tactics of RO, except for foundational gameplay. However, I really did consider RO to be my second home and escape from reality after school! I met my best friend in 2010 on a private midrate server pre-renewal and we're still going strong. I will live vicariously through your videos! Please continue to keep making them, and if you potentially showcase other characters and the like!

4:30 Just a small correction here. The atk bonus every 10 points was for STR (melee) and DEX (ranged), where you'd divide it by 10, then square it (ex.: 70 granted 49 extra atk, while 80 would make it 64). For matk it was a bit more complicated, with min matk getting a bonus every 5 INT, and max matk getting one every 7 INT. And let's not delve into Heal, which got stronger based on INT and base lvl - the Crusader job change quest even had a question where you needed to calculate the amount healed if you have X INT on level Y, if memory serves. I used to know all such formulas, but then everything changed, when the Fire Nation implemented Renewal 🫨

I don't really have a horse in the whole pre/post Renewal race. I haven't played in a LONG time, but I do remember hearing rumblings about how Renewel would ruin insta-cast builds, which were a big deal on the private server I played on (AnimaRO/AnthemRO). I still get nostalgic about the game though, listening to playlists of the music on YT every now and then. No other MMO that I've played was ever been able to capture the charm of RO for me.

I dont mind renewal. I play in my own offline server now so playing alone is a must lol. I choose to play offline for the fact that ill always have my characters no matter if official servers or private servers stay up or not

Rogue might be tough. The upside is at least you're not leveling a super novice!

I know you said choosing a Thief was a mistake--What are some of the easier classes to level on renewal instead?

Not really a mistake, just will take longer. Assassin or Knight are much easier. If you like ranged, Ranger or Sorcerer can be just as easy.

I really like this, I'm also a Ragnarok enjoyer who didn't care too much about the whole re-newal vs classic issue because i was too young to understand what happened back then. I got myself into the official European server (around November) and it's been a lot of fun revisiting this game. I made a mage/wizard and boy is it a struggle to level haha. keep uploading, love your videos.

I downloaded the game when I watched your videos but can’t play it properly. Mine keeps on freezing but the bgm keeps on playing. Idk what wrong lol. Did this happen to you? I tried downloading it from the site and from steam and its the same problem. I miss this game. Wonder hows WOE experience?

I never had that issue. You might need to run the game in compatibility mode. There are guides in the official forums.
