If we take into account that Le’garde is a reference to Griffith, then Ragnvaldr is a reference to Guts.

I honestly thinks that as hard as the ending to get is, it would've been better if in the end we fought the traces Gro Goroth to really point how futile the fight is in the dungeons was. Mirroring Enki's battle against the traces of Sylvian, which to be frank is a bit underwhelming scenaristically speaking. In the end, Rag's current ending is still satisfying and I even managed to develop my own technics and route for my S Rag runs, which was very fun and felt good to pull off. I only had fractured bones in the end which is a bit infuriating, but it is what is.
