He loves when his creation calls for him. He communicates with us while worshipping him. If we don't worship him it is our loss . Allah has no effect on this. Rahul’s question baffled me. I have searched the comments for a definite answer but couldn’t find one, so i did some research to find the answer, and there is. The answer is no. All non believers will not go to Hell. In Islam the decision of who goes to heaven and who goes to hell is left entirely to Allah as He alone knows people’s hearts and is aware of their deeds. What Islam claims is that it is the perfect religion for mankind and a religion for all time and all people. The Qur’an states that people who do good deeds will be rewarded for them: - For those who do good deeds, there shall be the best reward and yet more blessings. (Ch.10: V.27) So it leaves it open to God as to who will be judged worthy of entering paradise. Islam also tells us the qualities of the people who will enter paradise: - Surely, those, who believe and do good deeds, and observe Prayer and pay the Zakat, shall have their reward from their Lord, and no fear shall come on them, nor shall they grieve. (Ch.2: V.278) - And if they had believed and acted righteously, better surely, would have been their reward from Allah, had they but known! (Ch.2: V.104) In the above two examples, those who believe in God, do good deeds, act righteously, observe prayer and give to charity are promised to be rewarded by God - and this may include the ultimate reward of being admitted to Paradise in the Hereafter. - Surely the believers and the Jews and the Christians and the Sabians - whichever party from among these truly believes in Allah and the last day and does good deeds - shall have their reward with their Lord and no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve. (Ch.2: V.63) If a person rejects Islam after knowing Islam and fully understanding its truth he will be asked about it by God. Otherwise he will be judged according to his own religion or his understanding of right and wrong. I hope this clarifies his Question.
Just by listening to Dr. Zakir's analogies strengthen my faith and answer some confusion in my mind. I know how Rahul feels because I was doubting Islam too, but after enough reasoning the one which made me fully accept Islam again isn't logic, but just a leap of faith (hidayah). The 99 attributes of Allah does not mention anger, jealousy and egoism. Time and space were created by God for us but God himself is not bound by time and space. Likewise, God is not bound by the characteristics and human nature, because humans are created and God is the creator. Human anger can be positive and negative. If I get angry because my parents couldn't afford to buy me expensive watch that I wanted on my birthday, that's negative anger. If I get angry because someone is oppressing a weak person, that's positive anger. God's anger is always positive. If God rewards for good deeds, he also punishes for bad deeds, if he doesn't where is the Justice? A righteous person and a wicked person cannot be on the same page. God being most merciful, doesn't punish anyone without giving them enough opportunities and time to repent. Justice has to prevail and justice can be only done if those who do good deeds are rewarded and those who do bad deeds are punished. Allah forgives all sins except the sin of associating partners to Allah (Shirk). If he forgives that, the entire concept of oneness of God and worshipping one God alone, the very purpose for which we were created gets defeated. Besides, that would be injustice on those who followed Allah's commandments, if they are treated on par with those who rejected Allah. We all know God is never unjust.
Parents punish us if we do mistakes... They dont force us telling wake up every morning and think about us and should pray only us... The same way its done by god or diety... Allah is not egoistic if you understand Dr Naik's answer its very logical. He is saying that God has put certain punishments and rewards for different types of people. Not all people think alike therefore not all reward or punishment will be the same. In terms of why God wants you to worship him, is because he knows he is the creator and guider. If you worship anyone other you will go astray because that is not the truth. Its not being egoistic.. Rather he is warning you for your own benifet. I know Allah is the greatest and most merciful so why worship anyone else?

This is a lengthy comment*, I apologise, but if you *really want a bit of explanation on this then please allow yourself a few minutes to read this. I've tried to answer this to the best of my ability Egoism is human nature and if a person let's say, demands that they be worshipped or followed, they are doing it purely to feel good or big about themselves and not for the benefit or others whatsoever (e.g. in Islam we have the example of Pharoah demanding to be worshipped). God doesn't want that, he wants us to be guided to what is best for us. The response was that Allah is not egoistic because he wants us to worship Him alone. He orders us to worship Him, with the fear that if we worship someone else we will be punished, so we don't follow the way of any other being (who was also created by Allah) and are led astray. He wants to protect us from being misguided by following the teachings of anyone or anything else. Why does he do that? Because he is the sole Creator of all existence. He created each and everyone, everything living or inanimate. He know exactly what is best for us and what we need to do to live our lives correctly to reap the full benefit of it. It's like when someone builds a new model of a car. You want to know how it works and how you can use it properly. You can ask other mechanics and experts around but only the true creator/maker of that car will know exactly how it operates, what is good for the car (i.e. what will benefit it and what is harmful to it) because he created each and every little part of that car, he knows exactly what went into it. No one knows that car like he does. Let's say there's a problem with that car, you can ask an expert or a well known car mechanic but only he will have the perfect, and in some cases, the only solution for it. The point I'm making here is how only the One who created us can truly know what we want and following others will not allow us to reach our best and reap our full benefit/reward because no one knows us like our Creator, know one can advise us and guide us better than Him. No one except Him created us or was even there to witness our creation. We didn't witness our own creation so how can we possibly know what is best for us? Scientific experts are still out here trying to figure out the functions of certain organs in of body, the point being many of us aren't even aware of ourselves yet let alone others people or things around us Now how do we know He is the Creator? Just because He claims to be? Because it says so in the Scripture that is proven by science, that revealed information to us before science had even proved it. It proves it is the true word, and the One who wrote this is the same One who ordered us to follow Him and Him only, for us to be guided. And yes, we are not forgiven for not following Him, because we will then be led astray, even if we might not know it. It's like the example Dr. Naik mentioned. If a child wants to jump off the roof and his father threatens him saying I'll slap you it is only because he cares for him and wants him to stay away from wrong. It's the same idea of kids hating their parents as teenagers for always putting rules and regulations on them or "being strict" with them but only later do they realise after growing up and learning their parents were always right and did everything for their benefit. They didn't hate their kids or want to see them be punished. They did it because they loved them. God loves us so much more than our parents can and will and that is what He's doing for us. Not threatening us with punishment because He wants to see us punished or He enjoys it, but so people will out of fear of disobeying Him, not do wrong, not follow any other path but His, not be led astray. I agree, some people are logical enough to understand through logic and explanations but that's not always the case for everyone. Some people require an element of fear to be stopped, kind of like a person who wants to eat a cake really bad, but let's say it's poisoned. The fear of dying or getting a really bad disease will stop him even though he might have a couple seconds of pleasure eating it. I personally believe that Allah, our Creator, created mankind with the existence of fear for a reason. I believe one of the reasons He instilled it in us is so we could use it to be guided towards Him, away from wrong and being led astray.

From what I understand, the reason why "He says worship me only" is, the momemt you bring in someone into that position where complete obedience is needed, there will be confusion and dilution in the commandments. You cannot serve two Masters and end up doing a bad job.

I think the answer of this question is a two step answer; 1. Because Allah SWT says that He has not created Jin and Mankind except to worship Him and now if one is going against the fundamental of his existence his is to be punished forever. 2. The Shirk is the root of every other sin. If you're worshipping any other thing beside Allah SWT you are following that very thing which would eventually lead to things which may are permitted by the latter but forbidden by Allah SWT. Allah doesn't need you but you need Allah.If you don't worship him you won't get the eternal paradise after you die so he wants good for you that's why he ordered you to follow his path.This life is average 60 years but Allah loves us so much so that he gives eternal paradise as a reward for following his path.It will be hard to worship him but it will worth it after you die.

If God wanted, He could have forgiven them and admitted them to Heaven right there. But after blaspheming against God, His forgiveness can’t come so easy. You must earn it. So God created the world as a chance for those souls to redeem themselves. While on Earth, they must earn their place in Paradise by overcoming Satan and choosing God as their only Lord and Master. Additionally, no one can claim that God was unfair. In the Hereafter, everyone will see that they were given a fair chance at redemption. If they failed, it was of their own doing. It’s the same principle God used to expose Satan to the other souls before the great feud. God alone knew what Satan was thinking. If He banished Satan then, others would wonder why God did that. He could easily have banished them to Hell right after the great feud. But it is out of His mercy that He decided to give us another chance to redeem ourselves. A little advice if we may. You will always wonder about things like this and that’s okay. But some answers are meant for here and some you will get in the Hereafter. Never let this get you down. @Pradeep Kumar We want that everyone should worship and be grateful to the one who created them and not anyone else that is itself a creation and that can't help itself. Ask help from the one who created you, the Heavens and the Earth and everything in between. Even your scriptures say there is only ONE GOD. This is true unity as children of the first man and woman God created. We are all children of the same father and mother and they taught us to worship the Creator not the creation. To bow down and submit to someone else is to be ungrateful to the one who deserves our thanks and worship, the Creator.

Basically Dr.Zakir Naik tried to say is that If God said something which will benefit you in this world and in hereafter, then if you follow that you would gain the rewards of the Hereafter and if you don't then you Won't gain the rewards which will result into punishment! Another example if your teacher gave a test and in order to pass you need 51 marks out of 100. Here one question which carries 51 marks which is to not involve in Shirk or associate partners with God, so if you answer that question correctly then you will pass the test and gain Heaven in the Hereafter and if you don't then you will gain Jahannam! Simple Logic!!

The answer of Dr Zakir was great but unfortunately missing something especially when talking to a non-muslim. I think it is important to mention that shirk is unforgiveable for those who know Islam and refuse to worship Allah alone. In other words, a person living in an isolated Island, or a person who never learned about Islam cannot be judged for what he doesn't know. Those people are judged according to the instincts and moral system that Allah put in them. But once the undeniable truth (Islam) becomes clear to a person, it is 100% fair to judge him if he denies that truth and chooses kofr instead.
