I am a Nigerian and I watched this during my childhood years right here in Africa. A classic unforgettable movie for many enlightened Nigerians during my time!
0:13 - for a moment can make you feel like you're standing on a railway track! The effect is insane and no composer can bring in this effect in an instrumental piece! The synthesizer backdrop just makes the whole experience magical!
Bharat me aaj bhi rd se kai jyada talented musicians hai....par kyon k movie production am rika k movie houses ne take over kar liya...to hamare saamne keval kachra aata hai....kanneda kumar 3 khan 60 saal k ho gaye....paisa nahi hota to abhi public transport me senior citizens pass le k yatra karte.....rd bhi bhagwan hai....par mai bol raha ho aaj bhi rd se jyada talented log hai....
My God, listening after watching the movie way back at Devi Cinema in Chennai. I will not forget the way it jolted me when the theme started in the film. But listening to this piece it even sounds prog-rockish, that bass line and synth sounds!
The mouth organ at 1.20 is yet to be matched in hindi film music....one of the best piece I have ever heard. Also the bass guitar is given so prominence. It sets the mood...listen...1 2 3...1 2 3...1 2 3...1 2 3.. It was same way in Jaane jaa dhoondta from Jawani Diwani... Listen to that bass guitar thru out the song with head fons
Panchamda gave outstanding music for this movie. This title track is truely a masterpiece and no other composer could have given justice to the theme of 'The Burning Train'.. also he gave all kind of songs in this movie like ' pal do pal ka (qawwali), Christmas Carol based prayer (teri hai zameen', we can feel as if we are in the moving train) , indo Western fusion (meri nazar hai tujhpe), ghazal ' kisi ke wade pe kyu aitbar humne kiya' (that was removed from the movie after some weeks of the release) And the soothing romantic song 'wada haan ji wada' and also not to forget 'pehli nazar me' that was sung by the Gods of Indian music industry... Panchamda didn't win award for 'The Burning Train' and LP won for 'Karz' but TBT album will remain in the hearts of all music lovers forever..
RD Burman was much ahead of his time. He experimented with different Indian & western instruments/music styles successfully. He was a trend setter and others followed him
Agreed .Even after many years of his death he is remaining my favorite musician and even today I still listen to his songs in my car on my CD.I don't listen anything else.
If heaven is somewhere, it is in the music of the great Rahul Dev Burmanji, if you listen to it carefully, it seems that we have reached in another world. We miss you a lot....Boss.
the train sound pancham (r d burman) he recorded at vikroli stn at nite when one express train was passing he recorded wid two mikes one was at starting point of stn and the other one was at end point of stn very late nite to get the exact passing train effect and he tuned all the instrument in that perticular train horn note so that it wont sound differen listen carefully
Whenever this soundtrack was played (in Rajahmundry, AP) at the Minerva road off Training school compound by the music and tent house shops there in 70s (I think) there used to be, literally, traffic jam while we enjoying the music and chaos on the road, police had to intervene and warn the music shops to stop this music. What a wonderful days. We, at our teens, used to eat, drink and breathe music of Sholay, Burning Train etc. of RDX. It was a rage that used to burn the youth in Coastal Andhra. Love you, sir. 🌿
My favourite film The Burning Train and title song ekadam jhakas Sangeet Hai title song beshumar Sangeet hai Baba sunte Hain Jab Valentine ka Sangeet title song thanks
Friends - Agreed with all about immortality of this track - Still looks fresh and spirited even after many years have gone by and looks like it will remain so even for many more years in future. Regardless of whether the composition is original or a copied one. Credit to both composer and composition. Have to acknowledge that specially since it has been experienced by masses and not one or two persons. Best wishes to all.
Wow what a music the burning train one of the best miove forever and Danny sahab best role in acting in this miove all actor actress are good role in miove
I feel very happy that in this great legend music composition my name is coming in 2:37 Action Mansoor. But it's not Me. It's just only my name. RDB 👍 great ❤️ MY TOP FAVOURITE 💗 MUSIC DIRECTOR. I am just a great fan of him. Salute to my Pancham ji 🙏
At @2:00 the flange effect that comes every time Danny appears on the screen, it's so cringe inducing and effective, the philharmonic guys just couldn't get that right!
ar rahman is a gem, but had rd been alive and had he entered the scene by 90's or 2000's, he would have given rahman a run for his money. RD was rd, even when his prime coincided with the "masala" and commercial era of the 70's, and continued into the 80's which was the worst time for films, forget music. There was just a true artist like Gulzar to bring out the unimaginable best of RD Burman, but arr has had mani ratnam, ashutosh gowariker s film projects, imtiaz ali and niche subject themes to work upon. Rd burman gave such quality of innovation to the maximum extent possible to even the worst of the films, which deserved composers like sajid-wajid of today!
anon AR to ZR no one is even one percent of the capability and dedication and innovation of R.D. I am not biased but no one has such unreal shelf life of their music... no one retains the freshness of their work for so long. This is unique aspect of his work.
Infact even ramesh sir n sunil ji wer lucky to work under him... Though pancham da was indeed a blessed soul... Himself.... N had a gr8888 team besides him... Be it his arrangers... D solo musicians.... Whole team was amazing..... 👌👌🙏🙏
