The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is a small railroad that runs through the Cuyahoga Valley national park in Ohio. The train starts in either Akron (south of the park) or Rockside (north of the park) and runs from one town to the other, stopping in various places including Peninsula, a small village in the middle of the park. It passes by a number of scenic locations, including the Cuyahoga River, which gave the park its name.
Unfortunately, because this is 2020 and we are plagued by COVID, the train only runs on half the route on a given day. Today we'll see the train run from Akron to Peninsula and back.
Today's train is pulled by CVSR ALCO C-420 #365, and Horizon Rail EMD GP35M #2348.
As always, thanks for watching, and leave a like if you enjoyed!

I noticed that the Cuyahoga valley Scenic railway also has some brush cutters as well and a California zephyr passenger car

Does anyone know what happened to the FA’s, all the new videos I’ve seen across RU-vid of CVSR was them using the locomotives they are leasing right now.

I’ve never seen them use that solid black locomotive before. It’s always been two yellow & red on black engines every time I’ve seen it. I also find it strange at 8:48 that the rear locomotive has its headlights on, and with a dimmed brightness. Why would it need its head lights on?
@YellowNoseProductions
@YellowNoseProductions 3 года назад
I believe that it’s a safety regulation that rear locomotives always have a headlight on dim. If freight engines had red tail lights then they’d probably use those, but the headlight is all they have.

@@YellowNoseProductions I’ve seen this on the nearby Akron Canton Youngstown freight railroad as well, many years back. Trains with 2 or 3 engines pulling freight cars would have their rear engine lights on & dimmed (which would be blocked by the trailing freight cars) or when the train was stopped way down the tracks picking up cars, it would dim the lights on the lead engine until it was ready to depart. I dunno why, but these things always made me wonder.
