On a trip towards the east coast I went on back in June, we made a couple stops before hitting up our final destinations of West Virginia and Maryland. One of them was Alliance where two Norfolk Southern lines meet up and head into the Pittsburgh (Fort Wayne Line and Cleveland line). It was brief visit as we only saw three trains on the NS. But from what I read online it has a good 40 trains a day through Alliance. The other stop was the local railfan Pittsburgh hotspot of Homestead Pennsylvania where the CSX ex B&O line parallels the Norfolk Southern ex Mon line. This location was far busier as we saw 7 trains in just more than two hours. 4 NS and 3 CSX trains. Homestead can see up to 45-50 Norfolk Southern trains in a day along with 15-20 CSX trains in a day making it a very busy location in Pittsburgh. Anyway enjoy the video!
