Railfanning is fun, especially at night, and there is no better place than Kansas City. We recently visited Kansas City and had some fun keeping the camera's rollin' into the night. It seems as though the sounds come alive at night. Filmed during two pleasant evenings in late May 2015, we see the non-stop rail action around Kansas City continue at night.
Presented are two Kansas City hotspots: Santa Fe Junction and Union Station. Both on the Kansas City Terminal Railway, which serves all major Class 1 railroads coming in and out of the city. At Santa Fe Junction we see a freight transfer from the BNSF Brookfield Sub head towards Argentine Yard while UP traffic flies overhead. Additional BNSF trains can be seen on the Argentine flyover heading west towards the BNSF Emporia Sub. At Union Station, a BNSF intermodal heads west while a UP grain train parallels.
Enjoy this montage of nocturnal action around these two popular locations and visit www.railtrekmedia.com for information on upcoming programs.
