Railjet Advanced - ÖBB 1116 "Taurus" (Train Simulator 2016) 

Hi. I am one of the guys who built this thing. First of all this is a great video and I am amazed how well you understand this product. The second emergency brake was caused by the SIFA. You can hear the woman in the background saying "SIFA", but unfortunately you are ignoring her (and if there is one thing women don't like it is being ignored :-P). Unlike with the PZB, when the SIFA initiates an emergency brake you can cancel it by pressing the space key. The brakes will release and you can carry on driving. Very well done. I hope you enjoyed the railjet.

Führerstand means cab, not locomotive. Every locomotive has a cab 1 and 2. Both locomotives are 'slaved' together and therefore you only need to set it up once. If you were to go to the either of the locos, they would both have 1 room with battery switch etc, and one without :P

Hi Squirrel. Railjet is not a type of train in general, but a specific high-speed train from Austria (ÖBB) and Czechoslovakia (ČD).

The "Roadrunner" is also very useful for speed limits because as you know you can apply a speed increasing limit only after the back of your train hes exited the section of lower speed. For example when going over a switch for changing track. The limit will usually be decreased right in front of it and go up again right after the switch. The roadrunner system will tell you when the back of the train has passed the switch.

You had it almost right. A RailJet consists of only one loco and the fixed set of coaches. You acutally had a second RailJet unit behind you, which was in the standart RailJet livery. Also the sound when the loco is starting to move is the Taurus "singing"

Squirrel, braking using AFB on the Railjet is not ideal because the brake force is excessive, a touch of braking yourself is all that is needed. On some of the UK units if in multiple and using the 'speedset' using that 'technique' to brake is forbidden as the rear unit will stay powering while the front unit attempts to brake. Hope this helps! One end of the Railjet is a 'Driving Trailer' and not a loco :)

Hi! I am from Austria and drove already several times with the railjet. This painting what you see is a special version. It is the "175 Years Trains in Austria" painting. Normally the are dark red and black. They drive on Highspeed tracks for example "Salzburg - Wien" on the "Westbahn". It connects all big cities in Austria. (Ofcorse you can drive with a regional train, but that's boaring :D) Nice video! Now I am going to watch another Video from you :D

Based on my knowledge as a train conductor in Sweden, I believe that "Führerstand 1" is simply the other end of the same loco. In sweden we call this "cab a" and "cab b".

How can the middle train always face East if you are going North/South?

6:15, well, 1116 201-222 has a pantograph and systems suited for Switzerland, and its in use with Railjet aswell

When using the AFB, the Cruise control. It is not using air to brake, it only use the loco's electrical brake. Since the motors are asynchron (using electrcal current and turns them the opposite direction) Therefor you also hear a song when the motors revs up in the start. This system also when using the electrical brake, feeds back the power to the high power voltage line and thats why you see the 2105 KWH in the right panel. That is the used energy for the train. The yellow numbers are the "feedback" kw that you have send back. Not simulated.. Sorry for bad english real terms. Not my everyday language.

Small comment; you don't have a loco on each end of the Railjet, just on one end :-)

Also also, SIFA you can "pull out" of if it catches you without coming to a stop. Acknowledge it, neutralize throttle and reverse, re-forward the reverser, and you're usually good to go! (Not simmed on the base DB and ICE models unfortunately, but seems like other payware trains like this one got it right!)

SIFA is the safety system. It will blow out all the air that is in the breaksystem via a valve. You need to have a pressure of 5 Kpa (kilopascal, bar) and you are breaking with let some air out. A normal breaking just to lower speed is putting out the air to 4,4 Kpa and a brake will start. When putting back the brakeeverer, the air pressure will raise again to 5 Kpa so it might take a while to reach all brakes in all cars to none. In an emergency or fail to activate the dead man switch. It will brake and the pressure will go down to 0 Kpa. Using full brake, the emergency button, or the pzb (also known as ATC, Automatic Train Control or missed to activate the SIFA this valves open and brakes. 7 seconds from the first warning to action. The PZB action @38:53 was to have the given pzb speed to get into the shifts. When speed was to high and to avoid a de-rail the train brakes. There are different types and regluation in all of Europe but the Loco is also used in scandinavia..

I can side with Squirrel (maybe) by not doing many OMSI videos, if you've ever played OMSI you find the Direct 3D crashes and resets the GPU whereas other games tend to be more stable on that front. So probably why there's more Train sim and Truck sim, plus all other simulator games.

First time i didnt realised but u can see at the panels the texts are Germany and hungarian :D its really new for me,beacsue Railjets are going to Budapest(Hungary) but i didnt know the developers made it hungarian inside aswell because these trains are come from Austria. What a surprise! :D. and yeah on the right screen u could see the MÁV (Hungarian Railway) logo and name :D its fantastic lol :D

the 1116 is not the fastest electric locomotive in the world btw :D The main use of roadrunner is to know when the train si allowed to accelerate. I'd recommend you visit the Semmering. it's even better to visit! The reason they only put a 3 instead of 30 is, that there are also some for 100 + and those would look weird, especially if they are mounted to a signal and can be lit up.

So wait you're telling me that this is faster than a TGV loco? Last I checked the TGV runs at 350 kph on the Paris - Marseilles line .. Your statement that this is the fastest electric loco in the world is incorrect by quite a margin there. I mean the TGV has reached 574 kph in testing.

Hi Squirrel. This Add On is great. But in real life, Rail Jets heading towards Westaustria do terminate only in Bregenz and not in Lindau

I'm sure you know trains, you certainly know more than me. But for the love of all the gaming gods, please stop talking up the Unreal Engine as though it's some magically easy engine that can make everything better very easily, because I can assure you, it is not. I've had the dubious honor of working with Unreal at a AAA studio for seven years, and unless you are making a shooter, it is a LOT of work to bend it to your will. I'm not saying it's not a capable engine, because it certainly is, but it does not make things like streaming and high fps as trivially easy as you seem to think. The train sim debs have a steep and treacherous road ahead of them and I feel their pain. I'm sure they will do well, but please, please, please, stop touting UE as something that will solve all the problems with the wave of a wand. Game development is not that easy.

7:44 this is how much power you have already used, the yellow number shows how much power you produced with the dynamic brake. numbers will raise while driving. edit: seems like these numbers don't change while driving in the simulator, but in real life they do, trust me :D i am an ÖBB engine driver :D

It's not nonsense. You have to pick up and drop off passengers at the stations on your timetable to get that check mark or it will give you an X shape.

as far as i know you can press and hold the sifa it wont give you a warning becouse you keep pressing sifa Oh and sifa means sicherheits fahrschalter english saftydrive leaver when im not wrong

You don't have to dectivate the AFB if you're going to stop at a station. It's enough if you put the throttle down to 0! But you can use the AFB to slow down too if you drive in a station.

And if you're going exactly, at the country border you have to switch off the main lever at the sign...

RIP your wallet :P Too expensive for me to buy especially after the Steam Sale. A couple of things, you would have figured out probably that the first time E-brakes went on was because the signal showed a speed limit of 50 which you did not acknowledge. Unfortunately those speed limits do not show on the HUD as they are temporary for some reason so you gotta watch the signals. The second was a SIFA error. I don't know why it said you SPAD'd because you didn't pass a red signal I don't think. Destination stops are different from passenger stops in that it specifically tells you to stop at a certain point during the scenario. As for the doors, I don't know, you seemed to follow the right procedure for opening your doors at each stop, maybe you didn't, who knows. Finally, the graphics settings aren't actually that bad in TS. I've set mine to 'Low' for this route on my low end laptop and it seems to run fine. Good to see this new train in action.

a little bit of a shame that he kept on talking when the locomotive began to accelerate meaning you haven't clearly heard the gamut which is typical for the Taurus

Such a complicated train but it looks like a lot of fun to drive, what the heck!? XD I feel like the systems in this train would drive me crazy if I were to operate it but other than that I enjoyed the video lol
