Yes, in many places rail lines share track, that is the case with Amtrak they don't own the tracks but have trackage rights to use the lines. Where trains go cross country like an intermodal train is operated by Union Pacific from Los Angles to New Orleans designated UP ZLAJX-10 (Z=highest priority-LA=Los Angles-JX=Jacksonville-00=date originated) In New Orleans the entire train is handed over to CSX-then takes their train now designated Q180 the rest the way to Jacksonville with CSX crews.

TrainmanKight-- I never knew Union Pacific ran trains down in Florida; are there any other southern states aside from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas that they run trains through as well?

Why would it need to be renamed? Also I have family that lives in Tennessee, go there all the time, I also already have a few crossing videos up.
