So I was finishing up a day of filming trains and I thought I would stop and explain a little bit of railroad-radio and share some tips for tracking trans. Then I got a surprise visit from two BNSF locomotives with no FRED and MARY apparently turned off. It was a very "ham radio educational day." 160.500MHz: Thayre North Subdivision (BNSF, SW Missouri).
452.9375MHz: Nation Wide "MARY" unit... "FRED" unit is +5MHz.
