For those who are curious about the two locomotives... The #3 our host drove is based on Tonopah & Tidewater #4, a little 2-6-0 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works staged in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1906. When she first rolled out of Baldwin and was delivered to the T&T, she was delivered in a very dark Baldwin Green, a trademark default for Baldwin locomotives. Up until the depression, if a railroad did not specify the paint the locomotive was to be put in, Baldwin would put it in Green with white lining. She does not survive. The #2 our host drove is based on the Rogers 1897 catalog 4-6-0 freight engine built in Patterson, New Jersey. Many railroads had them early in life from the smallest short lines to the largest railroads, an example would be the Pere Marquette, a subsidiary company of the Chesapeake & Ohio. One of these little engines survives in operational condition, however as of the time of this comment is down for boiler work, that being Sierra Railway #3. Wonderful review of this awesome game!
Yea I thought they said the core gameplay was ready enough for a early access release in December, but clearly I forgot they gotta help a certain number of people feel special by letting them get a shot at it before everyone else. If I can’t play it I don’t wanna see it.
It looks like a lot of work went into this so far. They obviously are train enthusiasts. The dynamo in the video sounded like the ringing in my head. Helped hide the ringing some. I may like the game just for that.
Those are the little Moguls I was most excited to see from the screenshot action in the Discord. And glad to see you working your way though the tutorial, and hopefully getting a peek at what Railroader will be like when it’s done.
If you hover the mouse over the tender it will show how much water and coal you have you can also click out of the tutorial box you can reopen it on the top right of the screen it will be the first option number zero tracks your engine or follow button
@KerboOnYT you mentioned a 2-6-0. And if I remember correctly, Maria is one. Also one of, if not the oldest running locomotive. I might have to look into that place though. Love seeing the old steamers run.
Game looks fun, been following it for a while. Excited to see it released, but man. The brakes in the cab have been flying and not connected to anything for FOREVER and people have pointed it out, kinda disappointed the game is appearing to be releasing with something like that, amongst other lack of detailing in the cabs. Still looking forward to the game, seems fun.
How similar is this game in concept to Railroads Online? I played the most recent Free Demo trial and was not pleased with the experience, so I wondering if this project may be a better use of my money down the line. So far, it looks great
It is nothing like Railroads Online other than there are trains. This game is about running and expanding your railroad through realistic and detailed operation. Kerbo thank you for the video! Question: Is there any way to make it brighter? Things seem very dark like the gamma needs to be raised. It seems like a lot of fine details on the engines are being lost because it is too dark. Cheers!
There aren't many settings options yet, but they're busy adding a lot of things so it might be in by release. I think the global lighting could use some tweaking as well.

Have been able to play for a few minutes. I think you need internet during play as when I move away from it things don't work right. My biggest issue is I can't figure out how to save and/or quit. Any help here appreciated. Thanks
I’ll happily play all 3 and also derail valley. RRO is annoying to me currently, they need to fix the brakes being on/off only. But for the most part, it is still good.
I got more shooting sh*t than i did a tutorial on this . Explain detal betrer cause . Getting the water and coal in cab is very hard . "Lol next control click yo engine did that the outside controls on right lower wont show . There is a tone of problems wt the tutoral . I got a whole keyboard i could put in the football codes or play this game lol which out of the hundred play this game? This game said it had some controller support but . Ahh hell another game fo nothing i suck
This is me playing through the tutorial, not a step by step hand holding guide. It sounds like you're not reading the tutorial. Slow down and read all the text. There's a lot there so it's easy to miss things. I know I did the first time through. The tutorial walks you through how to control a loco step by step. Hold left control and click on the loco. This opens the inspector window. There you can click Select button to take control. Optionally you can hold left control and left shift and click on a loco to take control directly and not open the inspector window. Happy railroading
